Thoughts on setup?

I'm on the road away from my truck right now but here's what I plan on running:

Tow Vehicle 2014 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi
1690 Payload
8550 max tow
3.21 Rear axle
Class IV receiver
26 Gal tank
WD hitch
Helper Springs

Trailer
29'
Dry 5847
Gross 7805
Tongue 805

The numbers I've ran are getting close with wife and kid and dog in the truck. Not too much wiggle room.

Thoughts, advice, suggestions?

You got plenty don't worry about it. Stickers are just suggestion they have to put in there by law have been in the trucking industry with my family business for over 20 years. No reason to worry.

Thanks, just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

The numbers I've ran work, but just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

I'm not sure if trucks/trailers are anything like airplanes, but I do know we push the weight limits in airplanes (up to limitations). They have a built in margin for safety. I'm fairly certain that the numbers published for vehicles must meet or exceed what they tell us they can do. Lawyers and all...

Hi Chris,

You should be good to go. I'm towing a similar trailer, but with more tongue weight. My payload is 1490, but I have the 32 gal fuel tank. Same 3.21 gears.

Do you have the 8spd transmission? It does great, pretty much like the old 6spd with with 3.92 gears (though 8spd has better lower gear spread)

I also changed my mirrors for factory tow ones, though I have no problem seeing back there with them not in the flipped out position.

What WD hitch did you go with?

The factory P rated tires will feel squishy. I've already traded my factory 20 in wheels for factory 17s and will soon upgrade to LT tires.

Matt

Yeah, it has the 8 speed transmission.

Went with the EAZ-lift 48048 1000lb WD hitch.

I see you're up in Conroe. We actually live in spring/woodlands and will probably store our camper up in Willis.
