tire pressure on mag wheels

Good afternoon everyone
I have a question regarding tire pressure.
I have a GMC 1500 2007 with aluminium wheels that had c rated tire and inflated to label recommendation witch is 35 both front and back.
Now I just change my tires to michelin LTX MS/2 witch are rated 'D' and max air at 80 pounds.
The installer as put the same pressure as with the other tires.
My question is how much air should I put in my new tires when unloaded or loaded since I have those wheels. I can't find what the wheels are rated for max air pressure.
Thank you for your answer.

He put them at same pressure as your old tires?
Isn't your tire light on?

Of course he did! They do what the door jamb sticker says as far as air pressure.

You need to go to the Michlin website to find the correct inflation pressure for the weight present on the tires.

My old 2500 Dodge had load range E tires on it. Unloaded I'd run 35 psi in the rear 50 psi in the front (because of the heavy Cummins) but you should be fine with 35 psi in all 4 tires unloaded. Check and make sure the tire installer put in metal valve stems before you add 80 psi to them. You need special stems for that.

Tire pressure info from Lionshead the FR tire supplier is pressure is for shape so the proper amount of tire contacts the ground....for correct pressure you need chart for specific tire and wt that tire supports.....I guess a chalk line across the tire that touches the ground that wears off even is another indicator that pressure may be close to right....

I would check with the Chevy dealer and determine the maximun air pressure that can be put in those mag wheels.

It would also be a good idea to weigh the truck so you really know how much weight those tires are carrying.

I went from C to E on my F150. I called Ford, they said I can run 80 psi in my wheels. I went to the scale and figured out my weight. Called the tire manufacturer (Dick Cepek), they said I only need 55 psi for my axle weights. I run 45 psi when I'm not towing, it smooths put the ride.
