Tires?

Have a Tundra with airbags and a WD hitch and just upgraded to a Wildcat Maxx 28RKX that weighs 7300lbs. What tires should I put on the tow vehicle? Looking at Michelin LT tires from Costco but not sure if they are D or E rated but it appears they are D rated. Is this enough tire for this setup?

My opinion only, but if you are buying tires and you are towing that type of weight with any half ton truck. I'd certainly make sure you are going with E rated tires.

E will give you the best rating with a stiffer sidewall to help while towing.

What size are you looking for? Michelin makes many different versions of their LT tire. We went from BFG e rated to Khumo d rated for the price that fit the budget and they still could hold the weight without being at max pressure. I run mine between 55-60 lbs.

I put the Michelin LTX AT 2 on my tundra in a load range E. Best decision ever with my camper hooked to the back. Truck feels very solid now. With everyday driving the tires are quiet and smooth and I have not run into any issues off road. Get load range E you won't regret it.

I have the same tires my Tundra and find towing much smoother with them.

Be aware that these tires run at 80 lbs and the TPMS on the Tundra are not rated for that pressure. I have aftermarket TPMS that is rated for 150 lbs so I feel safe.

What is your GAWR for the rear axle? (info on tire placard)
What is your actual scale weight on rear axle with the Wildcat hooked up when it is fully loaded as you would be for a long trip?
What is the OE tire size?
OE tire Load Range C or D ?

Without the above facts any answer is no better than a guess.

Bought Continental LT's last year dumping the P255 that were on it. Lost half the cushion ride. Lost some more when I pump them up to 80psi for towing.
