Tires for tow vehicle
My tv is a 2014 Gmc 2500 d/a that came with Wrangler LT265/60 R20 tires that have a payload capacity of 2440, info obtained from sticker on door post. The max payload is 3069 per Gmc web site. Does anyone have suggestions on tires that I can get that will increase my payload of tires

Well two tires at back axle will give 4880 lbs payload. Why would you want to change them?

Why do you think you need different tires? The 2440 on your tires is per tire. 4880 on your pair of rear tires. 4880 on your front tires. 9760 total. What is your max GVW? It has to be under 9760 doesn't it? Check it out.

Yeah I'm new to looking to tow a 5th wheel. Trying to understand how payload capacity is calculated for each individual truck. The sticker on my door post sets payload at 2440 and it looks like that # is related to the capability of the tires.

Wait a minute. I thought you stated that your payload was 3,069. Be sure of what you are reading. There is tire capacity and there is payload capacity. Changing tires will NOT increase your payload capacity by the way.

OK, good! Then you already have enough tire.

If you are looking at a 5er, the most important thing to watch is your truck's total payload capacity versus the "loaded", not dry, pin weight of the 5er. Also be aware of Total Combined Gross Vehicle weight; truck and trailer combined.

No way your tires are rated at 2440 lbs. Should be more like 3195 lbs. Look at the tire itself and verify.

Both of the Goodyear Wranglers listed on TireRack.com show a 3195 lb capacity for the size tire listed.
Like ibrjet stated, check the sidewall.
