To Do or Not to Do?? Tow trailer and golf cart behind 5th wheel
Tell me what you think. I would love to pull trailer and golf cart behind 5th wheel. Concerned about safety, turns, etc. I think I have enough truck to pull (03 - F 350). If you have any advice or suggestions , please respond. Thanks Very Much!!!

The first step is contacting your state to find out if its legal. If it were me, I'd contact them directly instead of relying on a 3rd party. Also research the states that you plan on driving thru.
The next thing to consider is if the camper can handle it- your bumper is almost never good for much more than simply holding the sewer hose. That means you're going to need to fabricate something to the frame. Depending on the year of your camper, welding on the frame may void your warranty. Your frame may or may not be beefed up enough to support the stress of the hitch.

Ok Tks. Checking the state laws is something I haven't thought of. I think I have the correct hitch set up. RV came with factory tow pkg. Tks. for input!!!

Be sure to check all states you plan on towing in...... It is not legal in nearly all the east coastal states & a few others!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's a good idea if camper & truck are equipped for it (you replied yes), tip I'd add is to make sure you have some sort of TPMS on the golf cart trailer wheels as that small trailer will get lost behind the RV if a tire should lose air or blow.

Same advice here - I have never seen anything towed behind a FW. Be careful.

I've seen it a time or two in person and a bit more in pictures online. More power to those who do it- I can't imagine it!
That said, to the op- I've also read about people getting rear view camera systems so that they could see the trailer back there. I imagine its dang near impossible to see otherwise. Blow a tire and you won't know it.
The last thing to check is maximum length laws. With my long truck and long trailer, I'm at 58 1/2'. I contacted Maryland about maximum lengths and 65' was it.

If you have the factory tow package, a golf cart is nothing. Just make sure you have a trailer that pulls nice and straight, and a TPMS for the golf cart trailer tires would be a big plus.
We used to pull a 17-foot jet boat behind our old fifth wheel, and it really wasn't a big deal. And it is very common up here in Canada, as lots of people are camper/fishermen/waterskiers.
The only problem is that you cannot back up very far, so you would have to be careful to not get into a bad spot. Other than that, it is no big deal.

I have two friends that I camp with that do it. One tows a boat the other a Polaris RZR. Some years back when I had a fifth wheel I put a hitch on the back and planned to tow my boat. When I saw how long the whole set up was it scared me, just looked like an accident waiting to happen. I never tried it. My friends tell me they never know its back there. If you ever pull in somewhere and have to back up you have to first unhook the trailer behind the fw.

Our boat/trailer weighed about 2000 lbs, and other than a bit more weight to pull, I always had to check in the mirror to make sure it was doing ok, as I really could not feel it. No sway, no nothing.
We also pulled a trailer loaded with quads and motorcycles down to the Black Hills a few years ago, again no issues.
The key is to have a good trailer. If the trailer sways behind your truck, it will sway behind the fifth wheel.
It does look intimidating, but it isn't.

I've got a friend that has that set up. He had a hitch professionally installed on his 5th wheel. He pulls a 10 foot utility trailer with a golf cart. I've followed him on several trips and it pulls good. Its very common in Louisiana to see boats behind trailers up and down the interstates. Not a big deal down here.
