Tow bar for Smart Car

Have acquired a Smart Car to be the Dingy for our Georgetown 340 SE. Since it is very light, will it need to be rigged to use its brakes when towed? Is there a recommended tow bar, i.e. Would a Blue Ox be an overkill? Any advise for this rookie is appreciated ?

I would size your bar for this vehicle and the next possibly heavier toad. Most start at 5,000 lbs anyway. Bars will last many years simply change the car's brackets to suit design. Every state pulbishes towing requirements for its own highways. They vary a bit.

Sorry for the later post.
We got the Blue Ox base plate installed on my 2008 Passion Cabriolet at Camping World for their special price of anything installed for $39.00 We found a used Blue Ox Aventa tow bar on Craigs List for an excellent price, lady had only used it 4 times. Beautiful condition.
eTrailer lists the parts needed if you do a quick search on their site and gives good pricing for reference or you can order the parts yourself and have someone do the install.
