Tow truck over heating

Last thing done was rad flush & proper coolant filled to cold fill in plastic reservoir.
Learned to watch coolant level more often
Also when pulling older heavy trailer thru inclines "mountains " don't use AC while climbing open windows and if necessary turn on heater to drain heat off engine

These are all the things I had to do to my '04 2500HD until I replaced the bad fan clutch.

More info from you would be nice. Gas or diesel engine? Was this happening before the water pump and t-stat were replaced? Was the radiator and/or the a/c condenser fins plugged with debris????

Gas, I just need to keep proper coolant level & turn off AC while climbing

Bruce mentioned the fan clutch. May be a good idea to check and replace if needed. When the fan engages on hi speed, it will sound like a tornado under the hood. If you were not hearing that then the clutch ma be toast.
