Not sure what you're asking. If my truck can't pull it than I wouldn't be able to tow it. There's times though I'm towing in excess of 33,000 lbs. and it goes fine so the truck can pull it.

would NEVER tow more than my truck's capacity.

i've seen too many overloaded combos out there, looking like an accident waiting to happen.

I straddle the line- sometimes over on short trips and mostly under on long ones. Both types of trips are taken with an abundance of caution and if you don't like it, go around.

I would bet that most trailers are well over what the TV should pull. The caveat I put there is the overloaded ones are mostly those not on here. Yes there are overloaded folks on here but I would bet 90% of the RVer out there no nothing of forums to get the right setup for their unit or even care.. The yellow sticker said they could so they did.

Not sure what you are asking but ..... If you are close it is more of a hazard to the transmission etc........

We had an E150 conversion van years ago (before the weight police) Numbers escape me exactly but sitting in the driveway it had a 6200 lb total weight capacity and weighed 6100 lbs with the conversion Soooooo when I got in it was overloaded......then we put a 4500 lb trailer behind it...... it was in the combined vehicle weight rating........ but again with the family and tongue weight of the trailer, the van itself was over by around 1200 lbs..... it pulled fine, stopped fine, never felt unsafe, but the transmission did not like it much........... traded for an F250.

I'm at less than 60%. It's a safety issue. Think of others sharing the highway. Exceeding capacity puts other people at risk.

I call BS on that. There are a lot of things that put others at risk. Being over a number on a piece of paper is not one of them. Maybe the driver but not the weight.

Not the kind of question I would care to put the answer down in writing, it could come back to haunt you.

Guess if you crash and a lawyer googles you and finds a post on saying how you are over weight all the time then uses it to suit for gross and willful negligence or something... Seems a bit tin foil to me.. But hey who knows.

I am way under for GCWR, but will admit to being over on payload if you go by the lawyer sticker on the door jam. I upgraded my F250 to F350 specs by adding rear springs though. So if you use F350 specs I am under on payload as well.

That's assuming they can figure out who you are from a profile

Yes, but I was going with the tin foil hat idea.. So the men in the black helicopters would be able to help them find me.
