Towing a car

I will be driving a 38 ft. sunseeker MH (V-10) from PA to South Dakota to Colorado to PA for a friend and I want to tow my car. It will only be for this trip so I didn't want to invest a lot of money in towing accessories. Maybe using a tow dolly? Any suggestions?

Rent a tow dolly... Since you'll probably be returning it to the same place you picked it up, check other equipment rental places besides U-Haul.

If its for a couple weeks, the cost of renting may equal the cost of buying.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

Most importantly, make sure you do your complete research to make sure that your motorhome is physically and safely able to tow the car after consideration of all the weight limits and carrying capacities.

Last time I looked it was around $55 a day to rent a U-haul tow dolly. After about three weeks of renting one you could buy a cheaper one or a used one.

That is my concern, as well. I have been looking for a Wrangler Sport to tow behind our 22' Forester. We are going to look at a 2005 later this morning. Before we go I am going to get out the manual and re-read the numbers for towing. I worry, worry, worry!

What model and year is your Forester? Also what chassis, Chevy, ford, MBs?

It's a Ford E450, 2016 Forester Class C, 2291S
(We really love our new MH, and hope to be able to tow now that we have driven it across country and back)

It looks like the 2291s is built on an e350 Ford or the 4500 Chevy or a transit chassis. Are you sure yours is an e450?

Well, I even walked out and took photos of the 2291 S. and the E450 plates, but I can't get them on here.
