I have a 2019 31IK and tow with a short bed. I do have a slider hitch but with my previous fifth wheel I never had to us it. The last time out with the new trailer I had to make a tight turn and the cab did hit the nose of the trailer, thank god I only got a small scratch. I’ll be using the slider from now on.

Reese Revolution

~

My 2017 8289ws came with a Reese Revolution . Research tells me the Sidewinder hitch is about the same hitch, other than some differences in the way it mounts.

My dealer led me to believe that this will become standard on Rockwood products, although I can't find anything online to support this.

I have only pulled it once and have yet to get used to the whole 5th wheel thing. Looking forward to useing it again next month!

Some details about the Revolution:

That's why I went with an automatic slider like the DEMCO AUTO GLIDE hitch, last year. For ten (10) years I used a manual sliding hitch a Reese made hitch. I do not have to worry now to remember to slide the hitch back for clearance if needed. This is done automatically now for me.

I tow a Flagstaff 8528ikws fifth wheel with a 6.5’ bed and can turn past 90° if i so desire. I started with a 5.5’ bed and blew out the back window while turning just a few degrees. I have the reese revolution pinbox better known as the sidewinder. I have a standard Reese NON-SLIDER 16K fifth wheel in the truck and have absolutly no problems pulling. With wind or without or semi’s.
