I pull doubles for a living. I did pretty well.

I pull triple all the time Chevy diesel.5th wheel and a 18.5 I/o boat . Total length 74 ft just under the length limit in Canada of 75 ft . ND,SD and Montana are at 75ft and Minnesota just increased their length to 70 ft why only 70 when everyone else is 75 who nows. yes you do need a special licence a class 3 in Canada towing anything over 10,000 lbs

Here's a site that may help. I don't know how up to date it is. It says copyright 2005/2006 and I don't see any update on it but will give you an idea of states that have allowed triple towing.

ANother thing people need to also note is the type of lead trailer for double towing. Some states only allow Doubles with the lead trailer is a 5th wheel or Gooseneck.

But for States like Tx that only allow 65ft, you can get 30, 60, and 90 Over Length permits good to 110ft. We can also get muti-state permits as well. I would think most states offer the permits if lenght is a issue.

How are you guys confirming that your trailer chassis can handle the added weight of the 2nd trailer? Are yall assuming the 2nd trailers weight as part of the payload of the lead trailers GVWR allowance?

For people pulling doubles, I would think you would want a tandem axle trailer as the tag trailer for better trailing stability.
