Towing laws in Texas

We just bought a F-450 to tow our RiverStone. Does anyone know if the law requires a different type license for pleasure use?

There's no special license required because you have a larger truck. The only thing I've seen is that the truck & trailer combo must be under 65 feet for campers. Your trailer will almost certainly require an annual inspection. Unless your trailer is very small (not likely if you have an F450) then trailer brakes, including break-away are required.

As long as you aren't for hire, the rules are fairly lenient. With a really big truck and big camper, there are some rules on the driver's license. If you are towing greater than a 10,000 pound trailer AND your GCVW is over 26,000 pounds then you will need a non-commercial class A or B license.
