I could not agree more. It should be standard to have towing mirrors with any tow package by any manufacture. I have been towing for over 25 years and I would not tow without towing mirrors. I find the after market are not anywhere near as good a the OEM. I had a Dodge Ram and their towing mirrors are the best as far as I am concerned it only took seconds to open and close the manual folding was not an issue in my mind.

I did not want to spend money on factory telescopic for my 13 f150. Found some slip ons at etrailer that work pretty well, just have to remember to remove before pulling into the garage. Easy on and off and only needed when towing the TT.

you should check out Tyger brand. I got some for my Tacoma and I really like them a lot. Definitely one of my top purchases ever.

I ran the CIPA slip-on mirrors on my 04 for a few years, they did a good job. Then 3 years ago I bought a pair of factory mirrors, they a night and day difference from the CIPA mirrors, there is no comparison between the two. The factory mirrors are MUCH more stable and the visibility is great, don't get me wrong the CIPA mirrors did the job, but now that I upgraded to the actual towing mirrors there is no way I could go back to the CIPAs.

Even though it appears that the power towing mirrors for the 2105/16 are either hard or almost impossible to find I would still go with the aftermarket non power units over the CIPA, especially if most of what you use your truck for is towing.

My 2016 Platinum tow mirrors do not power fold as far as I can tell but do power extend and retract. Maybe it's user error, how do yours power fold?

There will be a round knob in front of the extend switch for power retract.

They are available as a fleet option too. (power glass, manual extend) I just got one last week (2016). I'll try to get a part number next week if you're still interested.

Just installed the Ford manual mirrors yesterday. Purchased a plastic trim removal tool to keep from scratching the paint on the inside of the door.

10mm 1/4 deep socket, 1/4 ratchet, and the trim tool. The whole job took 30 minutes.

Only thing now is I get a cross-traffic failure when starting up. The Bliss can be disabled in the advanced settings menu. But this is a small annoyance to get the larger mirrors.

I hope my initial question has helped others.

Thanks for everyones response.

Ok, I know this post is a bit old but it's worth a try. I just bought a set of tow mirrors for my 2015 F150. The mirrors match as far as options except for the puddle light. They both have heat, power glass, and turn signals. My mirrors I have now have the 8 pin connector, and the new ones have the 22 pin connector. With the door hanesses that were mentioned above, can I get the heat, power mirror, and turn signal to work? I just want some advice from guys that have done this before spending another 150-200$ in harnesses. The mirrors cost enough!
