towing mods

I am looking at purchasing a new fifth wheel. My wife and i are torn between a fifth wheel with a bunkhouse and a toy hauler. The problem being how do we haul the golf cart if we go with a bunkhouse. My question is, if a camper is ordered , can the manufacturer beef up the frame to tow a trailer inorder to tow golf cart without voiding the warranty. Can anyone provide any tips on on how to install a hitch to allow for golf cart towing. I have also seen many people hauling a gc with a trailer with a swivel wheel in which the weight is supported by the fifth wheel frame?

You are not going to get anyone to tell you it's O.K to do it. Yes it can void the warranty by adding a hitch or anything to the back of the fifth wheel. All I can tell you is that I have been pulling a 21' bass boat (4000#) behind mine for a few years now with no problems. It is not something that I recommend to people that are not very confident in their towing skills. I also pull the golf cart when not going to fish.

If you have a long bed truck I would say buy a bumper pull and put the GC in the back of the truck.

Trans, did you install a receiver hitch or just beefed up the existing? I see a bunch of fifth wheels with receiver hitches.

I guess I could question everybody. If you DO pull another trailer behind your fifth wheel. How did you do it? Receiver hitch or something else. I WILL install something on mine so I can pull either a boat or golf cart.

Many states will NOT allow this - I know for a fact that it is illegal in Florida; my neighbor was ticketed for this behind his fiver. It strikes me as odd however that semi's can tow double trailers on the interstates through Florida. I guess it is because they pay through the nose in road taxes! Randy

In Louisiana as long as the total length does not exceed 75 ft I believe you are legal.
