We.. (or should i say our F 150 truck) averaged 9-10 mpg towing from Michigan to St.Augustine Beach ,Florida last winter. i would say a good average speed of 60-65 mph..using the "tow haul mode"...the hills on I-75 going thru Kentucky and Tennesse were not that bad i climed at a steady 55 mph without much strain on the truck.. the beauty of my F150..when NOT towing which is probably 70% of the time or more ..i can burn E85 which lately is at $3.30 a gallon ..or less..and.. my truck will get 17 -18 mpg on E85 fuel Attachment 14796
That Cougar sure looks to be more than the 9800# max trailer load for your F150.

If it is the 291RLS the pin weight would be within his capabilities for payload. 1115 pin and 7215 dry with 9k GVRW. If he watches his loading and keeps around 16-17% pin weight, it should stay within payload capacity.

On another note, I think it is rather funny that people drop $60K on a truck and then another $60K on a trailer; and then worry about an extra $100 in fuel or cheap out on a noisy generator. Kinda crazy don't you think? This is just a general observation . . . . .
If you are not worried about fuel mileage then why post in a thread about it. I have a couple places that I go quite a few time a year that I fill my truck up at the house and when I get to the campground or back home the light will be just coming on. If I got less mileage than what I do then I would have to stop for fuel. These places that I'm talking about do have any easy stops. So the fuel savings pay for me multiple times a year.
