Generally try for 65. I find that using cruise (at least in slightly hilly areas) I lose about 1 mpg do to the transmission kicking down 2 gears to get the speed up right away. Wayne

I also run 65 and use the cruise regularly. The way I have found to stop the tranny from downshifting on hills is to watch and find the point where the transmission will downshift (mine is at about 2-3 mph below the set speed). When I feel the motor start to work harder I watch the speedometer and when it reaches 2 mph below the setpoint I put my foot on the gas and cancel the cruise to keep the transmission from downshifting going up hill. Worked well for me even in the mountains out west on our trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone earlier this summer.

55 with CC when traveling alone easier on the fuel ups - usually end up around 65 when going in a group though

I have found that 57 to 60 is about where I keep it at and average between 10 and 11 mpg - cruise control works best for this for me - I am in no rush either besides being in a lifted truck doesnt help me - I think it makes it worse for towing with LOL

Showed my DH your post; just told him to read it. Then he asked if I posted it. LOL!! Glad I'm not the only paranoid panicky person out there. In my defense, however, I was involved in several car crashes (roll over, rear end collision where my head smacked and BROKE the windshield, etc.) where I was NOT the driver and if I'm not driving, I'm not in "control" of the situation. Could also be my LEO personality. When we're driving through lots of traffic, I've decided to just close my eyes and not worry about it because every time I jump, he gets startled, which is not a great situation when pulling a 32' TT.
