Living in it full time and loving it. We considered a 2500, but opted for the bigger RAM for the added capacity

Formerly pulled the 2006 CK with 2001 F350 V10 w3:56 gears about 50k miles in all terrain averaging 7mpg in mountains to 10mpg easy cruising. Now 2006 Diesel Dually 3500 w 4:10 gears (both 4x4 limited slip) and Hypertech power performance set for pulling across Appalachians gets about 3 mpg better average in last 50k miles. Ford was 14 mpg Interstate driving 60 mph empty and Chevy 18 same conditions.

What name brand tuner are you using? Mine doesn't say anything about NOT TOWING. As a matter of fact, it has a tow mode. Never use any mode but performance mode as that gives me the best power/fuel milage. Tried all three modes [performance, stock, economy/tow]. "Chips", now that is another story. Different than full fledged diesel tunners. You get what you pay for. The Duramax LML ECM still can not be unlocked, but amended. Raised my top speed "availability" from 80 to 100mph.

10 mpg towing, 14 around town unloaded and 17 on the highway unloaded if I keep it at 65. Closer to 15-16 if I run 75-80 mph unloaded.

X2 That is pretty much spot on. Wish it was better, but it's not.

2012 ford

I had a 2006 f-350 Amarillo that I got 16.5 unloaded, pulling a 2010 coachmen chaparral 15000lbs and I got 10-12 heading south taking it easy, heading north I averaged 8.5 to 10 the Pocono's killed the mileage. Has your truck always gave you 14or less empty? could be an issue?

towing 12,000lbs. Get 20+ not towing, 11-12 towing. Since you live about 20 minutes from me, should be driving the same flat land
