Towing with a Trailblazer?
I have a 2008 I6 Trailblazer rated at 5,200lbs and wanting to see if anyone else pulls with a Trailblazer and if so, what and what are your thoughts regarding it?

We pulled a rockwood popup and the a RW 2306 TT for years with it. Only issue we ever had was in the mountains of tn. Just had to take it a bit slower but overall was great. I did add air lift rear air bags to level things off a bit and take out any bounce.

It is going to depend on what you are towing, or plan to tow. I got a TB specifically to tow my 26' TT in case my truck was out of commission (never happened). I did tow it a couple of times, and would tow if necessary, but my bigger truck did much better and I wouldn't tow a TT more than 20' or so with anything else but a truck. Let us know what you are towing or plan on towing.

I had a 2002 I6 Trailblazer towing a Coleman Sunridge popup (12 ' box) that weighed 2800-3000 lbs loaded. It worked well with 3 kids and cargo. I weighed it a couple of times and was ok for axle and GVW weights. But very close to max.
The I6 is not a powerfull engine for that size of vehicle. In the mountains (Rockies) it was a cautious trip with the small engine and weak brakes (from overheating). The short wheelbase is noticeable on passing transports and with wind sheers that sometimes caused sway. I found I could tow for about 2 hours with the small gas tank and needed to look for a gas station, especially in northern Ontario and the prairies where it may be many kilometres between towns.
In 2006 I traded it for an '05 Suburban. Big improvement since the kids were teens and we had a lot of cargo. I got better gas mileage than the Trailblazer with the Suburban on similar trips with the same trailer.
I find that even with the '09 Suburban now, its a bear with head or cross wind loading on the front or sides of the TT, so I'd stick to a popup with a Trailblazer.

I tow a 2012 Rockwood Mini Lite 2306 with my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. I have been very happy with the Trailblazer's performance, but I drive mostly in flat terrain. I have been loaded to the max several times and it still pulled really good. I'm looking at a larger TT so now I'm in the process of getting a 2500 series Chevy Silverado.

I had a o6 Trailblazer and towed a 21 Lt Wildwood. I estimate loaded weight at 4000. On the flat was really good. I live in PA and not much flat. On the uphills it was slow, down hill I didn't feel safe. Finally traded in for a Jeep v8. What a difference. Wouldn't go back.

Had an '07 Trailblazer rated at 5200#. Towed a 2012 Rpod 182G.... I'd guess 3700lbs loaded. Squatted it pretty good. Pulled it just ok (for my liking). I didn't feel real safe going long distances but mostly because of the suck & push from the big rigs and sway. The short wheel base is a hinderance, in my opinion. We upgraded to a Nissan Armada (then upgraded the TT to a Rockwood 2306... Then upgraded the TV to a Toyota Tundra... Next... Lol).
I think if you go with a good WDB, you'll be fine for a light weight TT.

I pulled a popup for about 3 years, then I started having $$$ problems headed toward NE , engine light problems, $ 1,600 later and another $350 water pump, I cancelled the initial trip. The Trailblazer was in excellent shape with 60K , but it would not handle my 23 ft. Travel trailer. A good v8 with trailer pkg works well!

trailblazer
Had a Trailblazer and pulled a pop up ... Traded up to a Surveyor 27 ft and used the Trailblazer one time to pull it ... It was like the "tail wagging the dog" in wind and especially when being passed by Semis. Next trip out we had a new 06 Yukon XL!!! Best vehicle to pull a TT.
