TheHugens, you may not want to drive too much at 75 mph if you have the cheapo Chinese tires on the camper that most of them come with. Wouldn't want your trip spoiled by a blowout.
Great to hear that your truck isn't having any issues with the fifth, and 10 mpg is pretty good for such a small displacement v6!
If yours is a typical experience, Ford is going to sell a heck of a lot of these Ecoboost trucks!

Thanks Crocus, thanks for the heads up on the tires, I will check what we actually got. I know they are Nitrile filled or something......I got the alluminim rims and torsion axles as well. So far we are staying at 65. We have been blessed with a tail wind from the weather and cool air! I got 11.09 MPG from York to Big Springs! My wife stop bragging, we still have the elevation in front of us and she doesn't want me to JINX it! Into Salt Lake and over the Sierras will be a differnt story!!

Funny thing with our diesel is we get better mileage in the mountains!
Probably because of slowers speeds. Maybe you will too!
They fill the tires with nitrogen, and make a big deal about it. But considering regular air is 79% nitrogen, is it really?

His fifth will be very close to the specs of ours, about 7600 lbs dry and a GVWR of 9600 or so.
I am amazed that the ecoboost handles it so well, as even our diesel knows the camper is back there.

Here is a link to F150online that has some info from people towing with an Ecoboost. Pretty good mileage reports. They do a good job of indicating speed, weight, and topography.

Hi Campers! The trips getting LONG! We are fighting rain, snow and 23 mph head winds! I will have to report my actual fuel economy later since my Dell hard drive failed! We r averaging 9.3 mpg since we started back towing according to the F150's computer! It pretty accurate. I'm using my IPad so sorry about the typos. Too hard to scroll back to correct. The climb through Wyoming was fine, we averaged 10 mpg through Wyoming. I will post all the segments when I get back. The weather turned bad, rain, sleet, snow and poor visibility! The downhill into Salt Lake was awful! Couldn't see any lane painted lines. We got tired and stopped 20 west of Salt Lake and slept for 3 hours? Woke up to 23 mph head winds! The travel link web site on the Sony Nav is great! We felt a little over the top spoiled when we got the loaded Lariat! But we r using all the technology and convincing ourselves that it will pay for itself! LOLOLOLOL it all the time. Mostly fuel prices and planning the fuel stops accordingly. The 26 gallon tank isn,t an issue. 4 hours between fuel works fine for us. We also like the weather map with real timer radar! It is so accurate, when we drove into the blue pink, it started snowing, rainy. In the 5 mile scale it gives u wind speed and direction! How cool is that! The on board fuel economy computer has effected how we drive! On a down hill into Salt Lake I was only getting 9.8 mpg. I shifted from 6 th gear to fifth and the mpg went up to 18 mpg. Must have to do with the torque range. Pretty cool.
I'm trying to fix why my pics aren't coming through so I can show off my wife and her new toy!

I got to go test drive a Lariat edition crew cab 4x4 ecoboost f150 today. and WOW it has power! i didnt get to drive around too much. truck had 23kms on it and was almost out of fuel.. played around with the traction control, the computer, all the other options. looked good. not what i would want though.. Anyhow my 07 f150XL and incentives brought that one down to 45k$.. bit much for me.. gonna look over the brochures etc but i doubt ill buy it being a first year thing.

I'd try a different dealer, as that price is bs.
My friend just bought a loaded Lariet Off-Road ecoboost for under $43 thou, and he got top dollar for his trade in (diesel). Only paid $11 to boot.

I paid $43700 after our $750 customer loyalty rebate that Ford sent to me. I also qualified for 60 months at 0%. Had I used my own finance I would have recieved another $2500 in rebates. I knew what i wanted and the dealer was the only one in the West that had my gear! In paid a little more since he was aware of my needs,

I ended up with the sun roof to boot. We love it though! My wife and I put 4000 miles on it since last Thursday picking up the Flagstaff. I had to have the heated and cooled leather buckets, I love em! No more sweating in the drivers seat!

2011 supercrew 4x4 platinum supercrew was $54,444.00 trade and incentives of 12,944 brought it to 41,500 + tax. Still thats insane compared to my first build on fords site of 22,000 xl regular cab 2x4 with the eco boost. still, i got a paid for truck and i just think that right now as much as i fricking love that engine, ill have to wait..

unless they can make me a regular cab, 5'box 4x4 XL with the eco boost for under 20
