That's the big handicap of any 1/2 ton...reach your payload capacity way, way before reaching the maximum tow capacity.
2800 to 3000 lb payload capacity is not enough for a 1/2 ton truck?

I see some 3/4 ton types talking about nothing they anything about,

3000 lb payload beats the pants off of most 3/4 ton trucks. RVdixie is right!

To the OP

Reason number 3 That I want is all that is required. Reason Number 4 is a bonus too .

Also the warranty expired is the most valid reason. Go for it. Have you had the engine blow up or drop the tranny on the 2011... just wondering.. I have 32,000 miles on 2013 with no issues.

It's plenty, that's why I wanted one badly enough to wait 8 months for Ford to build me a 2015 H-D Payload F-150. But, when they said it was going to be a year, I gave up. If they won't build it, you can't buy it.

Does your 2015 F-150 have the H-D Payload package? If it does, it is the first one I, or my Ford dealer, have heard of.

Sorry for your situation. I was lucky enough to order one in January and received it on April 1st. I have to tell you I have owned a dozen or more trucks in my long life and this is the best I have ever owned. I pull a 32' Coachmen Chaparral Lite fiver with it and you can't even tell it's back there. I only pulled it a short distance but I am planning a 3000 mile road trip in June so I will let you know better after a more thorough towing experience.

What does payload sticker say Dixie? And how about the GVWR, FAWR and RAWR? No one has posted axle ratings (2015 model) on here yet as far as I know.

I did not say my truck was rated at 2800 lb capacity. I have a crew cab which seriously drops the weight rating. My truck with the 3.55 axle rating BTW is rated at 2070 carrying capacity. The GVWR is 7000 lbs. The conventional cab is rated as high as 3050 lbs. I do however have a GCWR of 17000 lbs. leaving me a towing weight of 11900 lbs which is more than enough for my trailer. The tongue weight on my trailer is about 1400 lbs empty and the overall weight as equipped is 8900 lbs. I think I have a very nice towing vehicle which is also a dream to drive when not towing.

No worries................Your 2070 is a nice payload...............2800 to 3000 is crazy IMO for a Ford 150!!!!! If they have that much when the HD payload come out I might have to look into one

No, no problems with my truck at all. That's why I am considering another.

After 3 delays and finally being told by the dealer on February 27 that I would get it in August 2015, I cancelled my order. My point is that those 2015 Ford Website payload numbers are fiction from the marketing department. My Ford dealer had 300 2015 F-150s on his lot or on order and not one was an H-D Payload truck. A few had the Max Tow package, but none of his and none he could find at other dealers had the H-D Payload package.

I have always been a Ford guy, but my solution was to take my returned deposit and buy a 2015 Ram 2500 CC-SB 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel 4x4 off a dealer's lot that same week. And, for the icing on the cake, I paid $1,000 LESS for the Ram 2500 than I would have paid for the F-150 Supercab, Eco-boost, long-bed, Max Tow/H-D Payload, XLT 4x4 I had on order!

After a 1,000-mile all-Interstate break-in trip at a calculated 23.4 MPG and a 2,500-mile tow at 12.4 MPG (including an entire day on I-40 in OK with 40 MPH headwinds), we are now VERY happy that Ford couldn't deliver our special-order 2015 F-150!
I am going to look at the Ram 2500 diesel before making my final decision. that's great that you are getting such good milage. If I was sure I could do the same, I would definitely get one. Unfortunately, most people I talk to don't get anywhere near 23 mpg.

From what I have seen, I like the Ram. My F150 has served me well pulling my 7,500 loaded trailer. I really like the size and all of The F150 when not towing.

My dealer is one of a 31-member dealer advisory council to Ford management, which, to quote him, "meets regularly with senior management, including one named Ford." He said that he would be bringing my suspicions that Ford can't meet the published F-150 payload to that council at their next meeting because he can't understand the reasons for the delay/refusal to build those trucks either.
This is the end of April and the Ford dealers in my area finally have a few max tow and one H-D Payload package on the lot. But like I stated earlier, Ford said they would make the most popular first due to the long wait at start up for the 2015. It only makes sense to produce what sells the hottest on start up when you have to make up ground. Now you should be able to get anything you want.

I get 20 mpg with the chevy 3500 duramax. There will be no denying the diesel is a dream to tow with. Most properly equipped eco boost trucks are reported to tow well so as long as the truck fits your needs on payload, axle ratings, and tow capacity then go with the truck you like better. I will warn you, if you go diesel, you won't want to tow gasser again especially if you tow in the mountains. Enjoy truck shopping, it is always fun.

I really like the size too, that's why I waited 8 months for Ford to build my F-150. But I wasn't going to wait a year for it when I had already ordered a new Rockwood 5th wheel.

And, as I stated, that 1,000 miles @ a calculated 23.4 MPG was all Interstate mileage from Denver to Chicago at varying break-in speeds between 60 and 75. But my towing mileage for 2,500 miles would have been close to 13 MPG if I hadn't had a 280-mile day across Oklahoma with a pretty consistent 40 MPH headwind. In town, my mileage is around 16.5 right now.

I am not trying to sell anyone on a Ram truck. About the only things a 2015 Ram 2500 diesel has in common with a 2015 F-150 Eco-boost is that both are pickups, both have 6 cylinders, both have turbos, and both are 6 speeds. So, I am just as surprised as you that I got that mileage because I didn't know what to expect since I had never owned any diesel or any Dodge/Ram truck before. But the fact that I am getting that mileage with a truck that weighs a ton more than the new F-150 and has nearly twice as big an engine is the biggest shock to me. Somehow that seems to defy the laws of physics!

The 2011 Ford 6.7PSD I had would get low 20's cruising down the highway. Unfortunately, most of my driving is short trips that don't allow the truck to reach full operating temp. This type of driving resulted in more regens and significantly lower mileage. The average for the time I had my 6.7 (8 months and ~6000 miles -it was used) was 14.5 and my F150 EB is now at around 13.2. This is for the same type of driving, and the EB is a 4x4 whereas the 6.7 was 2x4. The mileage difference is partly because of the BTU content in diesel versus gasoline. 125,000 gas vs. 139,200 in diesel. I assume the ability to run a much higher compression ratio would also increase efficiency. I'm sure the are other factors that some would be able to point out.

But there are some HD payload F150's on the road right? There are several owners here on this site. Why would anyone claim suspicion that the published payload can't be met? Unless you feel that those few vehicles on the road are a hazard, and could shatter their suspension at any moment (?).

Order up a Platinum F150 with Max Tow/Max Payload, and I bet they would build it in a heartbeat. But few on this site would want such a truck, as the weight of the bling would offset the entire reason for wanting the increased capacity.

So given the following 2 orders, which will get priority?
a. Platinum, std-capacity truck = HUGE profit package
b. Mid-level, max/max truck = low-profit package

Go to Ford's website and try to "build" one. You can't. Max Payload is not offered on Platinum, and if you get it on the Lariat you can't get the 501 or 502 preferred equipment packages. Any of the higher end trim/option packages force you to remove the max payload package.

The previous generation F-150 was similar in that regard. Why the heck you can't have a sunroof on max payload F-150 I have no idea, but that is how they have always listed it.

OK. So anyone here with HD Payload package has low-end trim and light on the options?

Sunroofs are goofy. I drive a Mazda3. When the hi-perf Mazdaspeed3 came out, they did not offer a sunroof, because it weakened the structure. Would have required more crossmembers = more weight. So maybe the sunroof package in an F150 adds weight, too. Which adds to your point!

Thanks
