TPMS

I know this has been discussed before, much like china bomb tires, but I cant find the thread. I'm planning a road trip this summer dragging my travel trailer from Tucson through Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri and likely another state or 2. Looking for input from those who have used TPMS systems. I'm thinking I need to invest in one.

I bought the TST507 about a year ago. Just make sure you install the included repeater otherwise it might lose signal without knowing for a little while. It's nice to watch it scan through the tires checking PSI as I'm driving. No guessing what the PSI might be.

The batteries will only last a year or so on each sending unit.
'IF' your monitor starts screaming at you and you pull over and find nothing wrong with the tire, it may be the battery on that tire is getting low and needs replacing. 'If' finding nothing 'wrong' on 'that tire', restart monitor and it will 'reset/find', in locating each unit. The 'unit' that was screaming may reset its' self and work fine for the time being or the monitor may not 'pickup' the unit (battery to low). It is 'ok' to drive with out that 'unit' not working and check it over at a later time. We had one unit that was not working correctly and the monitor 'looks' at it and goes to the next unit. Drove 4-5 hours with the monitor 'passing over' the dead unit and then 'saw' something wrong and started beeping for the dead unit. Checked tire...all fine and reset the monitor. Just drive as it you had no 'unit' on that tire. Easy to take apart unit and check battery voltage with a volt meter.

A TPMS system is one of those 'peace of mind' items on an RV that is worth the money.

Mine paid for itself the first day on the road with it...

Turned out that I had a nail in one tire!

Here are a couple of links that'll help you.

The first is about TPMS systems and why you should have one. There are also links to Amazon for buying the system that you pick:

The second is How to use the TPMS:
