Tpms

had a blow out on the toad today, no warning from TPMS. When I called them first thing was did you have a repeater on your 40' HM? Now they are sending me a free repeater. Very little damage on toad, but tire was gone to the rim. Passing car flaged me over otherwise didn't even feel it. Long story cut short, if you 40' get a repeater.

Can you read the toad tire pressures going down the road ?? If so, I would think a sensor on a low tire should also be able to send a signal to the receiver......unless the tire did actually did blow out and damage the sensor. What am I missing here.

Have STS 507 TPMS and yes it reads the presure and temps, however when talking with them it will keep repeating the last reading until a new reading is recieved, bottomline it will not keep the readings current with out a repeater. It was hit or miss with current information.

I believe you meant TST, not STS.

Free repeater? They certainly didn't have to do that, but that's the way they do business. Their customer service is a level that all others in the RV business should be aiming for.

HM is 40' so the front tire on toad was very close to 40' from reciever. And yes, TST TPMS and agree they are standing up with free repeater. Rear tires on toad are way more then 50' BTW recievers was still reading 34 lbs with tire gone until it updated a few minutes after we had stopped.

Well thanks for the info. I have been considering installing a set. I talked to a tire store that had a sale on them but he warned me that alot were returned because they caused a leak at the stem valve. Has anyone had this problem? Are some better the others, seems like their are quite a few on the market. I had a blowout and didn't know until I nice guy came along side and told me......

You have to go with hd metal valve stems. TST 507 TPMS is what I have and don't have any problems. Thinking about getting the flow thru's to make it easier to add air if needed.
