trade or no trade
So where I buy my wife's suv's from and my '16 GMC 2500 CC from, he has a 2015 CC Dually Denali on the lot with 10k miles on it, now my truck as 8200 on it. Since we're going to upgrade our TT or a 5'er in a year or so, I'm thinking of trading in my '16 for a '15.
Would this be worth the trade or should I go buy a new one at 62-70k pending on dealer? The '15 is listed at 57k

Tough call. I would see if the trade would be an even swap or if the difference in price was worth it to you.

yeah, mine is 2500 CC with the all terrain package, and I paid close for it new what they're asking for the used dually Denali. It'll give me the payload and towing for the 5'er we're looking at, however, a new one will cost me more but give me a longer warranty.
very tough call, however, since the truck has been there for over a month and and they dropped the price twice already, plus we buy all of our cars there, I may have some wiggle room, IDK yet

I found out that the '15 dually has a #5010 payload and can tow 22,6 at the fifth wheel, the same numbers as a 2016 model.
I'm leaning more and more that way, but the wife is "no, not yet".

Somewhere else I remember seeing that it was a different engine altogether. If that's true, I'd be inclined to wait one more year so they can get the bugs worked out.

I'd pop over and at least talk to them otherwise you'll always be wondering what the deal would have been. It's not like you can't get up and leave if it doesn't suit you.

I agree----that is assuming you can still walk AFTER you mention it to your wife.

I just priced out a 2016 1 ton dully Silverado High County diesel. Out the door with all incentives and GM discount was 61k. I am betting the price will come down more in Sept.

Jumping from an SRW to a DRW is huge. The payload jump is enormous. Definitely worth the move.
With regard to engine being more power in a newer one... I think all manufacturers have long past the point of "enough" power for what a 1-ton can handle.
An engine at the end of a design run is a safer bet than a new one.
