Trailer Camera with Ram ?

Just purchased a Ram that has the ability to turn on the bed cam or tailgate cam on at anytime.

Has anyone ever hard wired their 5th wheel camera to their tailgate cam?

I would be very careful with wiring anything into your RAMS wiring system. Ram uses either the CAN BUS A or B systems depending on model year. Users of the Ram trucks who have tried to modify the electrical system have had a very expensive learning experience.

I would consult the BODY BULIDERS GUIDE that Ram provides in the UpFitS information guide for your model year.

Yes, Go on the internet and put in your model year and type in Body Builders Guide for RAM trucks.

I recently ordered a RAM 3500 and a wireless interface to a trailer camera is part of the Towing Tech Group along with trailer TPMS. I think you can order adapter harnesses from MOPAR

I did find that they sell a 30’ extension harness for the OEM camera.

It is 2019. They stopped taking 2018 orders by the time I went in. Lots of new technology that I will have to learn but, now, I'm glad I had to wait. btw, I ordered the 5th Wheel Towing Prep (puck) system w/ the 20K MOPAR (CURT OEM) 5th Wheel hitch. It was actually cheaper than what I could get it for elswhere.

But...I would still check with MOPAR. I know they have harness that will allow additional inputs to existing dash Displays and may have the new wireless modules as well. You may need to call because navigating their store website cab be challenging.

I love my new Ram 3500 with the box cam. Hadn’t thought about adding a camera on the rear of the 5er, sounds worth investigating.

There's a couple companies online that can help you retrofit your camera setup. Infotainment and Camera Source are a couple.
