Trailer Tires Nitrogen Fill

When I purchased my trailer last year it came with Nitrogen filled tires. Over the winter the pressure has gone down enough that the stem monitors (the green/yellow/red) are showing low on some of the tires.
Can I fill the tire with air and tow it to a dealer to replace with nitrogen? I guess I could remove two at a time?

How have you all handled this?

This question comes up often. Nitrogen has some benefits, but they are negligible in TT tires. In addition, the air from a compressor is about 78% nitrogen. Fill from a standard compressor and do not waste your time or money on nitrogen.

Nitrogen fills are pretty much a gimmick, as long as you fill the tire with low-moisture air youíll be fine and air is 78% nitrogen anyway.

No need to do anything special. Also, nitrogen will expand and contract with temperature changes just like air. Normal summer pressures will become low winter pressures if there are large temperature changes between seasons.

Sounds like your RV dealership sold you another unneeded add-on to your RV.

Just do a search on "Nitrogen" within the forums. You'll have a few days worth of reading.

Luckily, no... It was already filled that way when I picked it up- nothing extra.
Thanks for the info, my home compressor should be just fine then.

Yes, your home compressor will be just fine.
As mentioned, even when using your home compressor, the air you will be putting in the tires will contain 78% nitrogen.

Nitrogen filled tire are just the new scam by the tire industry to increase price as if tires aren't getting expensive enough.

I just got a great deal on a new "Green" compressor. It puts out 78% Nitrogen into all my tires.

Room Air

A tire guy was offering to fill my tires with Nitrogen, when I needed a top off. I told him I already had 80% Nitrogen in them now, plus trace elements of noble gases. He asked "Where did you get that?"
He filled my air with regular compressor air, and I left him no wiser.
