Transfer flow vs. Titan
Thinking about adding an aux. tank to my truck. Looked at both models and both look good. Just thought I would see which has the best following. Any info is appreciated.

I was open to what I could find used, in good condition on Craigslist. I wanted the ability to store items in the locking toolbox as well. Found a great deal on a Transfer Flow. It included the whole harness and gage/control panel with all the mounting hardware, hoses, adapters and fittings. Hose was in good shape, but I replaced them with new anyway.

I'm going with a Titian (having it installed next week). Mainly went with this because I wanted all the space in the bed that I could get (Shortbed, CrewCab, F350).

I have a homemade tank but if I was to buy another one it would be a Transfer Flow. It comes with 12 volt pump already installed. I have a 12 volt pump on my tank and it works great. Plus I installed a filter on the pump

There is an excellent company right here in Texas !
Atta tank has a version with computer control that integrates with your truck tank and refills automatically
We found ours on CL

I'm not familiar with the Titan Aux fuel tanks. I used to sell the Transfer Flow systems when I worked for a truck equipment dealer and thought they were the best in the market, not the cheapest. We sold other Aux fuel tanks but none of them were automated like the Transfer Flow. They have a couple levels of fuel systems and the one that pumps fuel automatically into the main TV tank is great. They are very safety concerned and their tanks meet DOT specs. Very important in a rollover accident, thankfully that doesn't happen very often. The sales staff at Transfer Flow are very good at answering any questions or issues you may have.

I installed the Titan Travel Trekker in bed tank last fall. This is a great tank with simple controls. It comes with everything needed for the install and is pretty straightforward.

Almost four years ago, I had a 75 gal TransferFlow put in a Ram 3500 diesel. The authorized dealer, near Cinci Ohio did such a good job (or so I thought) that I tipped the installer $20. However, the aux fuel quantity gage didn't work. When I told TransferFlow I would be out west in a few weeks, they asked that I stop by to let them take a look. Low and behold, the tank was installed with sheetmetal screws instead of being bolted to the frame as required. In addition, the wiring was all wrong. TransferFlow took it in their Chico CA manufacturing facility, took the whole thing out of the truck and reinstalled it superbly. Bought me lunch, gave me a tour of the factory, and filled the tank up all the way. All of this was free. Needless to say, that Cinci dealership is no longer and authorized dealer.

I believe (?) Titan is not an auxiliary but a replacement. I have the Transfer Flow Trax3. It has solved every problem I had in that area. I got the one that fits under my Retrax cover. I have more fuel than I can drive in a day for sure, usually 2 LONG days.

I had a 2016 Ford f250 diesel 26 gal tank replaced with a 50 gallon Titan 2 years ago when I bought the truck. The place I purchased the tank through and did the install would not put in a metal tank due to rust problems from experience. I did not want a tank in the bed taking up bed space in my 6' 9'' truck bed as there was already a tool box and 5th wheel hitch. They installed the tank and even reset the fuel gauge to work with a 50 gal instead of the 26 gal tank. I also got the skid plate with it. I have read somewhere that this is the tank the Army uses on all their trucks. Mine does fine and no complaints with it. I do need to see if anyone does need a new 26 gal tank that I have left however.

I went the cheaper route with a 60 gallon RDS tank that is bolted down in the front of our 8ft. truck bed. The tank has a built in fuel gage and does not extend up to the top of the bed rails. The tank is also gravity feed with a manual shutoff valve. I drive until the factory tank is showing 1/4 full and then turn the auxiliary tank on, once the factory tank is showing full again, I turn the aux. tank off. The tank came with all hardware and valves required for installation, tank + installation cost me around $650.00. I looked at the Transfer Flow tanks but just could not justify to myself to spend $2000.00 for something that I could get for much less.

I replaced the 26 gallon tank on my Duramax with a 43 gallon Titan 5 years ago. No problems after modifying the vent setup that came with the tank. You will need to be fairly adept mechanically to install one. I'm not sure what a shop would charge, but sure it wouldn't be cheap. That being said, I had to go this route because I have short box and cannot fit much of a tank in front of my fifth wheel hitch. Box mounted tanks burn up a lot of useable space in the box.
Regarding the vent problem, when originally installed according to their instructions, the fill rate was very slow. I had to stand there and hold the nozzle and it would take a half hour to put 30 or more gallons in the tank. I moved the vent outlet into the neck of the filler spout after the area where the nozzle goes in so air was not competing with the fuel going in. Titan may have corrected this situation, but would be worth investigating.

i also have an RDS gravity feed 45 gallon aux tank that sits is the front of my 8 ft bed i only lose 8 inches and i too have the manual shut off valve
so far it works great, no complaints
bought it used so the price was right
installed it myself, it was fairly easy

Wish I'd taken some measurements before having it replaced but didn't. 1st picture is the truck with the factory tank. 2nd picture is with the new Titian installed. You can see the silver mounting straps showing between the door frame and the running boards. Clearance to bottom of running board is 15 inches. Clearance to bottom of tank straps is 13 1/2 inches. From the side, it doesn't even appear the tank is lower than the running board, but the tape measure don't lie. 3rd picture is a side shot to compare with the 1st. Still need to get the distance to empty updated from the dealer.
