I'm in Texas, all legal here. I doubt that I'll ever get out of state but if I do, I'll sure check into it.

Actually, all states that border on TX allow double towing (I guess some call it triple, but I only see two vehicles being towed). Very common here in ID/UT/NV. But legal in most states.
However, states do put an overall limit on the length, and some states (I believe CA for one) require a special license. So need to know the overall length.
I actually saw a guy pulling (very slowly) out of a FS campground in WY a few years to with a older model F150, with a good size trailer on the back and a good size boat behind the trailer. And I will emphasize, he was pulling VERY SLOWLY. In fact, I would bet I got parked my popup, leveled it, opened it up, and started on a walk with the dog before he made it to Cody about 30 miles down the road.
And not sure if this map is actually up to date.

Just a FYI from a currently extexas person. Your rig looks to me to be too long for Texas, the maximum length of all three vehicles had to be 70 feet or less several years ago when I also pulled doubles. I would check to make sure of the current max length requirements before you get a ticket. The State police used to pull you over and measure the total length of the rig.

Map may be out of date. I have done double tow in NC, here is is regulated by overall length. Don't recall what it is right off hand.

If memory serves. Idaho is 65 feet and I was pushing it with a 23 foot bumper pull with my drift boat behind it. Quad cab K2500. I think I was around 60 feet.

Its very common here in SD. The rule is 75' but there are many that are probably over and I don't think anyone really cares. I've never heard of anyone getting measured.

Yeah, I laugh at the term "triple tow". Don't know why RV'ers (some, not all) call it that.
Do they call towing just their one trailer "double tow?"
Two trailers: double tow. I.e, towing two things.

It is still not legal in NC........ I see it every now and then but a large fine risk.

I see it once in awhile. Saw it two weeks ago at Ocean Lakes. Wish we could but I know the first time I try it, I'd get busted.

I am just thinking of getting into a fuel stop with that...nope, not towing two things. While traveling, we never know where the next fuel stop might be, or more importantly, how easy it is going to be to get in and out because of the layout or congestion.
Thanks, but I'll just rent a boat or buggy when I get where I am going, but more power to you sir!
And the winning answer for max length in Texas is....(drum roll)...65'

I'll eventually triple tow but for me my biggest fear is driving into a spot that I can't get out of or must back out of. Has happened a couple of times towing a 5th wheel and that was gnarly enough.

Towing two trailers is tough enough... but towing three trailers! Wow! [emoji846]

Ok, if someone double tows, will a brake controller work for two tow vehicles? Just curious, I am never going to try it.

f5moab ... many boat trailers have hyd surge brakes, so no controller required. I double tow a SeaDo squirt boat behind my Silverback. It's a fairly common practice here west of the Mississippi. Driving 2 vehicles to the lake is not an option appealing to me.

I sometimes double tow a single waverunner behind a 23' overall travel trailer with a Chrysler Aspen. It doesn't effect handling or even MPG any over just the camper. I can easily unhook and move the waverunner around by hand, it's not a really big one. I'm about 50' overall and pulling 7000 pounds. I did add a camera back there so I can see if something is wrong.

I pull trailers behind my 5th wheel with no trouble. Don't even know there is a trailer behind the RV, doesn't tow any different.
The trailer behind the RV tracks with the RV, because the RV has a large tail swing.
In Texas the law states only a double trailer can be pulled behind a 5th wheel/gooseneck, no bumper pull to bumper pull. Max length 65'
