One of the dealers I spoke to said they manufacturers are trying to make toppers like the car market by adding a bunch of pricey features such as led lights, carpet headliners, extra storage boxes, eat. All I need is a box to keep my dogs from jumping out the back of the truck LoL

Which is exactly why I got mine too- got tired of cramming the kids and dogs in the cab. Be sure to check with your insurance company if you get one. Some companies have a low limit of aftermarket accessories added to vehicles. I just added coverage to my truck to cover the shell, dual exhaust, power inverter, spring helpers and WDH if something ever happened-didn't want the pissing match.

How do you like your Snug top and what model to you have? Im really wanting one of them bad boys
Like the way it sheds water off the door window jam and keying it to the trucks fob. Open the hatch and the light goes on.The sleek transition from top to bed looks great, no lines or moldings.
Very impressed with this topper so feedback from a owner would be great.

Hondaman - Unfortunitly I will be working that weekend. The next time I will probably be able to get the trailer out is NASCAR weekend at LVMS in the beginning of March.

Plato- we like ours and our only complaint is a few fish eyes in the paint but we are a critical customer since we are in the auto biz.

Evo- maybe next time, we had four families out last weekend and always got room for more. Enjoy the race-I hear it gets pretty crazy on the infield.

I'm also considering the soft convertible tops so I can fold it down when the dogs aren't in the back, but I'm not sure how thick and durable the canvas is. I've never seen one up close and personal. It would be nice to be able to keep it folded down so I can use the truck as a truck w/o the dogs.

Can-Back uses Sunbrella on the sides, Seamark on the top just like Coleman pop-ups used! This is tough stuff.

Softopper uses the same vinyl-coated fabric as used for convertible car tops. It is not as durable as the Can-Back.

Around these parts, pets cannot ride unrestrained in any part of the vehicle and the cops do enforce this. So, is a standard kennel box designed for the truck bed out of the question? Much less money and you can get them with rain toppers.

I like the idea of being able to keep them out of the sun and wind when traveling so a camper top is probably the best option for me. I'm not worried about them being unrestrained since the tops secure closed; I can always tie their leashes into the bed tie downs.
