Truck GPS

Has anyone ever bought a truck gps instead of an RV GPS and if so do you like it for use with your setup?

Thanks for any info!

Truck GPS

After a few too many close calls last year with our new fifth wheel and the regular car garmin gps we got a garmin dezl. It lets you put in height length and maybe weight.

It is a much better navigating tool when driving a larger rig IMHO. I still have many other garmin gps’ but they stay home or in the car.

Yup. When we bought the first rv (garmin) truck GPS, they didn't have the RV on the market.

We bought an RV GPS when we accidentally fried the first one by leaving it on the console in the sun.

Basically, they are the same with the RV one possibly having more RV parks listed than the truck one. We don't use that feature very often.

Make sure to read the reviews on each one. Also search on this forum. Lots of discussion on the RV version.

The dezl and RV versions are almost the same. The RV one simply has the RV parks and repair places, where the truck version has a couple of truck-centric items. They still have rest areas, weigh stations, truck stops, fuel stations, etc. in both. Both will let you enter your rig's information and help you avoid things you need to avoid. The truck version used to cost less, but now they list for the same price.

I was wondering if the truck gps only routed you on motor carrier routes. If so the the RV do the same thing?

My Rand McNally gps is truck/rv Can load complete rv height and width and length and keeps me on truck routes. Love it better than a garmin. And makes my truck gps a joke when towing. Won’t tow without it with me
