Truck Grill Guard

I recently bought a 2014 Chev. Silverado 3500 from a Chev. dealer. The previous owner had installed a huge Renegade grill guard, I mean this guard surrounds the entire truck grill and wraps around the headlights. My concern is will the xmission overheat from lack of air flow over the cooler.?. I am not concerned with the engine over heating just the xmission, the grill guard is blocking some air flow over the cooler. The previous owner did not tow with this truck. I drove the truck empty this week for 30 miles and the xmission temp reached 139. Anyone towing a 5th wheel with a grill guard, if so did u have any temp. problems. I play a test run after I install the trailer hitch.
