Truck Leasing
Anyone towing with a Leased truck? Just wondering if any rules out there about not towing with a lease. Want to buy an new truck but will get a lower payment if I can lease.

Average number of miles per year you plan on driving during the lease term?

Miles driven is the only restriction that I ever knew of.

If OP plans on running the rig more than 15,000 a year it could be better to buy.

dealer should be able to tell you any restrictions. but i think whether you buy or lease a truck, you should be able to use it as a truck. if they start putting restrictions on what it can be used for, i would consider buying instead.

May have to pay for scratches holes etc any other damage upon end of the lease. If you go over your miles (check lease for mileage) it is very expensive to pay the extra miles. Read the lease closely don't rely on the dealer to tell you the truth about what is in it......
We put 30 K plus on our cars so a lease would be crazy for us.

I had leased my 08 F-150 and towed with it for 4 years (TT only). I had to follow normal lease restrictions. I did put a few screwholes in the dash to mount my brake controller and that was no issue at the lease end inspection. When I bought my new truck I did initially inquire about 5th wheel towing and the suggestion was to use a drop in bed liner and upon lease end inspection throw a new/used bedliner in it to hide the holes (yes my dealer actually suggested that), but I decided to buy this truck instead.

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. Mileage really won't be a problem for me all our camping is done close to home(1-3 hrs) and drive the car for most other travel. Looking for a little more HP.

My bud got nailed by GM when he returned his leased pick up, he had used it to tow a fiver and they charge him big bucks to repair the holes.

I have had four F150 leases now. The first two, were used for trailer towing. The last two were fifth wheel tows. One truck that was used for 5er tow had a bed liner. I removed the bed liner, for the three year lease, while I towed the 5ver. At the end of the three year lease, I re-installed the bed liner. The truck I have now, I had the ford dealer throw in a free bed liner. I removed the bed liner this time again, for the two year lease. My sales person told me, as long as I did not cut the bed liner and replaced in at the end of the lease, its was O.K.
