I bought mine in August of 2011....there was a higher priced version but I did not buy that one. I would be hesitant to put more than 100lbs on it....the good thing about having it all dented is I don't worry about it any more. Over all it's done what it advertises but I don't think I would spend 700 again for their product.

Wow just looked at the web site lots of changes in less than a year. They don't show one that opens from the front anymore.

Great feedback! I'll be purchasing mine before winter and I'll let you know how it performs.

Funny thing, I would have had one around the same time as you. I saw it at $609 on eBay then the price jumped up to $646. I waited for it to go back down. I gotta stop being so cheap...$40 freaking dollars and I've been dragging my feet over it.

...yeah, I know! I've kicked myself a couple times.

Just a note....I remembered this from registering my cover. Taken from the BAK website.

"Products purchased at discounted rates on auction sites such as Ebay and Craigslist, to name a few, will not be covered under factory warranty under any circumstance. BAK Industries is unable to verify whether products sold through Auction Sites are new, used, or refurbished, and as such, we are unfortunately unable to warranty such purchases. We advise using caution when buying through auction sites as you'll be doing so at your own risk."

Hard truck bed cover

I don't know if it is the same brand of cover but it looks a lot like mine. I bought mine in 2006 for my Ram Cc and has been indestructible except for the rubber seals that cover the hinges. They have disintegrated from the sun and the top now leaks a lot. And no way to replace without drilling out dozens of pop rivets and re-riviting.

Just one thing to be aware of with using a truck cap. If you have any leaks in the exhaust, CO could be drawn into the back of the truck.

According to one website, in PA it is OK to carry pets in the trailer. Just a possible solution. Having a Yukon means they ride with us but I figure if we ever move up to a 5er we'll need a solution for carrying the 4-footed kids. I expect to do a wireless cam to keep an eye on them in their crates.

I can live with that and fully support their position.

Truck Topers Ram Crew 1500

I finally pulled the trigger on the BakFlip on eBay. $640 for the G2. Just an assumption (or maybe I just got a bad one) is that these are not 100% to spec.

Overall my install went fine. However, I ran into one slight glitch...when installing the elevator bolts at the front (by the cab), the hole alignment was off by about 1-1 1/2 mm (in total width) from the bracket holes. I had to file one of the the aluminum brackets to get the bolt through.

Other than that, I'm loving this thing so far.

Take some photos if you don't mind..like to see what some of the improvements are so that I might be able to make to modifications myself. Have not pulled the trigger on a cap yet.

I did not have a problem installing mine. I love the Bakflip. Once I get to where I am going I close it and the bed stays dry while camping.
