Truck went down on me

Got a three day weekend so we were going to make a 150 mile trip over into New Mexico not to far across the Arizona line. Got all hitched up and loaded out and went to pull away from home and my truck threw a walleyed fit and could hardly untrack the trailer. Check engine light came on as well as the o/d light on the shifter started blinking (2001 Ford F150) and so we ain't going anywhere this weekend.

Glad it didn't happen up in the mountains.

So my friend is bringing his scan tool over and we will see what we can figger out.

Not the case at all. We all have problems from time to time.

Now here's the ringer. I work as a professional mechanic (ASE rated master) and without access to manuals and a scan tool to find a starting point to look at it's hard to figure out right off the bat what the basic problem is.

So my friend and I used his generic scan tool and it appears to be a glitch in the electrical plug going into the transmission or a bad wire on the wiring inside the transmission.

I work on a mixed fleet for a state agency and the ALL break down or I wouldn't have a job.

OK The truck is fixed, but too late to get outa town for the weekend. Found some corrosion in the plug on the side of the transmission that wouldn't let the internal electronic controls work. Really makes the transmission act weird. Defaults to 2nd gear, O/D light on shifter stalk starts flashing and won't pull for beans.

Walleyed fit and won't pull for beans, eyup, that about covers it!
