Trying to set up E2 WDH
I bought a new truck recently and am trying to set up my weight distribution hitch. I know they recommend being fully loaded for a trip before doing this but my truck is my daily driver and it's just not possible as our trip is a week away. So, they say the ball needs to be the same height as the hitch. Can I, or should I just raise the ball one notch (1") higher to pretend my truck bed is full of gear (toys, generator, firewood)?

No pretending!
I don't see why not if you think that is about the sag of your goodies in the back of your truck. It should get you close enough and you can verify on your first trip and adjust accordingly... have fun camping.

what i did is when i traded in my old truck i measured from the top of the hitch on both trucks my new one was 2 inches taller so i lowered my hitch shank 2 inches. worked like a charm maybe the dealer still has your trade in

Nope, they sold it in 2 days before I even thought about this... now as far as the L brackets go, if I raise them, it should put more weight on the bars, correct?

No, I have it with the truck... I've been unhook ingredients, and adjusting the ball height just haven't messed with the L brackets yet and the dealer had them set to the lowest setting

Yes, that will increase bar pressure. Adding washers to tilt the head back also increases pressure. Follow the instructions bar level, Linda bracket adjustment, etc.

So I brought up the L brackets 2 notches and seemed too much, I brought it down one notch and added 2 washers (total of 5 now) and it seems to take quite a bit of tongue weight off the truck but seems the trailer is nose high and the truck squats maybe a half inch.
