Mike,

There's some banter in another thread about whether there would be an alarm from the TPMS if you completely lost a wheel.

Could you explain what would happen with a TST 507?

Good question.

If you are going down the road, and a tire were to just fly off. The system will not alert you right away, as the sensor did not send an pressure alarm, or temp. alarm. The monitor will not receive information from the sensor. It will echo the last valid signal, and than after a time, it will display no readings for that position, and you will receive a single beep when the monitor cycles through past that position.

Thanks, and Have a Great Holiday Weekend! I am available if have any other questions.

I believe that time will be more than 1/2 hr later. So it basically is not useful for a lost wheel. At least on mine that's what would happen. If I drive away from my trailer it doesn't beep for that amount of time or longer...

TST TPMS

We have engineers working every day to BE the best we can be. Our new monitor being released very soon, features FULL Color, and has some additional auto sensing trailer features, can monitor up to 4 trailers, making it easy for the end user to switch between trailers. The missing tire issue has been addressed as well.

So everyone knows the new monitor will work with all existing 507 sensors.

Thanks,

Mike Benson

Cool, do you have any idea what the price will be and the release date? Maybe a break in price for upgrade customers? [emoji2] If it isn't too expensive I will definitely upgrade. Thx!

Mike, Should I hold off on a purchase? I won't take delivery for another few months.

Thanks,

I believe Mr. Covington sold the company??? I held off from May 2016 waiting because he said they were going to color monitor, improved sensors, etc. I am hopeful those are great improvements........and happen fairly soon. I asked at Frog booth in 2016 and again in 2017, and they didn't know.

FYI, there was a booth at Frog for "TST Now" or some similar name. Turned out not same company at all.....so be aware.

I hold off on the purchase until Mike chimes in about a release date and pricing.

Just bought mine few weeks ago factory direct and was still Truck Systems Tech.

If the new monitor is nicer wonder if they will do exchanges for the recent purchases [emoji23]

Still same company name but they where bought out some time ago. As I live 5 miles from them and they are next door to a super truck store that I visit I will check in on them for updates. Later RJD

TST Color Monitor

Hello All,

We will be releasing the color monitor in the next 2 weeks. We will have a monitor upgrade price for existing customers. If you just bought recently the upgrade price will still be the same price as if you were to buy the new kit when it is released.

All 507 sensors will work with the new monitor, so existing customers will be able to upgrade to the monitor, and use their sensors.

Thanks,

Mike Benson

Mike,

Any chance you could go into detail about what the upgrade to the color monitor consists of?

I'd certainly be interested in having the latest technology as long as I'm able to fully understand what's changing and what I'm getting in the upgrade.

Thanks!

My TST 507 has been an OK addition to my 5er, but there are issues. Far from the greatness others have reported. While I only have a relatively small 5er at 31', the TST tends to lose the signal from the sensors on a regular basis and I get a single beep, then have no info for that tire until it reconnects again later in the trip. Usually at a stop. I have swapped batteries 3X in the tire valve sensors trying to correct this problem and it still happens every few hundred miles or less. It is kind of annoying. The other thing is the the pressure the monitor says the tires are is always 4-5 psi different than every other tire gauge I have. Including the fancy digital one I bought. I have a bit of a hard time believing all my other gauges are all wrong in the same amount and the TST is correct.
On the plus side, the monitor rechargeable battery seems to last a long long time and the alarm is seriously loud and gets your attention fast. As far as the pressure goes, I adjusted the TST alarms to reflect the actual true PSI of the tires, not what the TST shows.

I just got mine. It had some troubleshooting paperwork that mentioned disabling any atomic clocks or outdoor temperature sensors due to interference if that helps.

Do you have a repeater and how long is your trailer?

I have not even put mine on the trailer yet so curious what your setup is so I know what to expect.

I'd suggest getting there repeater, I did several weeks ago and all is good. Later RJD
