Tundra commercial

Is it just me or does anyone else have a problem with Toyotas Tundra can pull anything including the space shuttle commercial? I mean to the average joe it sends the message that get this truck and pull anything. Sorry for the rant but towing safety is something that affects everybody on the road.

That was a highly modified Tundra, heck you could modify a Toyota Yaris with special gear reduction and get the same thing done.

That is just a commerical - Chevy, Ford and Ram commericals stretch the truth about what they can do also.

A few years Back Ford showed a super duty towing a freight train. Chevy commercials crack me, I can actually see the frame damage in some of them.

In 4 low most trucks could move an amazing amount of weight on flat level ground. With the way they say up the trailer for the shuttle, most small tractors could have pulled it and then cut your lawn.

The truck was not highly modified. Any truck could do that, when you have no rolling resistance and on flat ground. That dolly was made to easily move the shuttle. Any half ton truck could have done the same.

The "dolly" was self-propelled.
Just look at the other pictures, do you ever see anything pulling it?
So the shuttle was actually pushing the Toyota!

Yep...I'm getting tired of the " Go Big or Go Home" mentality of these commercials, show me numbers with no "fuzzy" math, then I'm impressed!
But that don't make interesting commercials nor sell trucks to the common folk I guess

And truth be known, we are either Ford, Chevy, Toyota or Dodge fans. Mostly depends on what our dad drove and that it a good thing.

I personally always "liked" the ads where they get a big front end loader to drop about 3,000 pounds of rock from 20 feet onto the bed of the pickup. It bounces all over the place. Can you imagine anyone doing that? Might scuff your paint up!!

So the self propelled articulating unit that was a necessity to steer around sign posts and street lamps didn't do anything Toyota? I'm referring to the same unit that carried the Shuttle from its hanger to the launch pad without the Toyota every single launch.....

Toyotas new slogan should be then....Toyota, doing the job that a truck was never needed for in the first place!

Hey, they could just fire up the shuttle thrusters and forget about any truck pulling the shuttle

Toyota is the only company that doesn't adopt "fuzzy math", being that they are the ONLY company using sae j2807 towing standards. I do agree that the commercials and advertising geared towards the have no clue crowd is sickening.
