dcheatwood has sound advice. Never had over heating issues with mine. I all ways travel in standard shift (6) with dash selector in "Tow/Haul" mode. If your rig has several thousand miles I would have the trailer brakes verified and adjusted if necessary.

Repeating theme here...use tow/haul always, let computer figure out uphill gears, select which gear keeps the pace you prefer downhill.

And your 3 mile hill climb will probably be over before you know it. I have 2 20+ mile climbs coming up on next trek out in 105+ temps. We will be pushing Clifford hard but not too worried about it.

On a trip to San Barbara I didn't have any problems with a 7.5% grade but then I took it a bit easy going up.
