A 3/4 ton gasser would be best but a properly equipped (heavy tow package) 1/2 ton will do the job. Our TT is right around 7500 lbs loaded, which is about 2000 lbs under the tow rating my F150 and handles it just fine. But with a 1/2 ton it may be pushing the GVW of the truck. Which is the case for us, even though I have almost 2000 lbs of towing capacity left I only have about 200 lbs until I hit the GVW of the truck.
