tv o6 4runner v8 tt roo21ss

Just got an 08 roo 21ss. Itowed it home on saturday in the wind and rain about 40 miles sucked up quarter tank of gas computer said 8-9 mpg had to keep in 4th gear to 65mph. I didnt realize how tall the roo is till i got it home. Does any one make any kind of air deflector to put on my roof to push the air over it should help a lot. I have wdh+sway control+prodigy

4runner,

Congrats on the new RV. Research that I have read states the deflector will never save enough fuel to pay for itself unless you are towing full time.

If someone knows different, please let me know.

The manual will reflect what total frontage area trailer max is for the vehicle, as far as air deflectors if the trailer front is not totally flat a deflector wont help much, the trailer is likely wider than the truck, and those outside edges catch wind, no deflector on top is gonna change that.

there are a few deflectors out there, but if it aint as wide as the trailer you arn't really doing anything. IMHO

Hi,

I've got an 05 4Runner sport V8 and just about the same gas mileage I get when towing. I've just resigned myself to this fact and now I feel much better when I leave for a camping trip.
