TV tune up

I've had my 2008 GMC Sierra for about a month now and we are starting to plan our summer camping trips. Next month we are actually driving it down to Florida without the trailer as well. Thinking I am going to do a tune up on it before we leave as well as switch over to synthetic oil.
My question is which spark plugs and wires are people using on their TV? Previous vehicles I would just grab the Champions for a couple bucks each but I want to get some good ones. Looking for better fuel economy and also a little more power.
I am also looking at a cold air intake but don't think that is going to be in the budget for a couple months.

I have the chevy 6.0 and put the bosh plugs in with the 4 electrodes . i must say i never had new plugs make such a big difference . idle was noticeably smoother as far as mpg did not really notice a increase it may be in the .2 or .4 range increase and power just seemed smoother .

You have coil on plug so the OE wires almost never go bad. Fresh plugs, new air and fuel filter, oil change, and Lucas "Tune up in a Bottle" are good choices.

A tuner usually wakes that motor up a bit. Edge makes some nice ones.

The factory airbox on that truck is not that bad compared to the older style so just a drop in performance filter would be enough and you can pull the screen out that sits in front of the MAF. That is a waste of time. In the performance world, that is the first thing to go on an LS based motor.

Whats a sparkplug? Didn't know real TV's had those ;-)

Bosch Platinum or Iridium is what I have used in the past before we went to a 3 diesel household ;-)

Just go with the OE plugs. Don't waste your money on Magic plugs. The wires will be OK. I would also change all the filters as well as all the fluids.

As far as tuners go, Black Bear is the go to tuner for GM trucks, and they do make a noticeable difference!

And BTW, spark plugs are those things that people use when they don't want a Diesel engine with problems!

I do the plugs on my '13 Ram every 30,000 miles as called for. Use OEM copper plugs. Royal bear though since there's 16 of them.

Also, if you have a 5.7 Ram I suggest a oil catch can. You'd be surprised how much oil gets blown by the PCV in to the intake and on the backside of the throttle body. Disgusting.

Looks like I will be putting in the ac delco iridium plugs, oem. Truck has 117k, not sure if it needs them but for $45 I will know what is in there and how old they are. Sounds like I will stick with the wires that are on them for right now too. Possibly A tuner in the future so good to know which to look for when it's time.

Stick with the AC Delco factory plugs and wires....AND GET THE WIRES!!!! Good chance your going to break them coming off anyway. Advance carries the factory replacement with lifetime warrantee. Just changed mine out and gained 2 MPG running empty, towing run this weekend.
Computer tuning.....1st what engine do you have? if its a 5.3 L33 forget any plug in box tuner, custom tune is the only way to go. Have then do away with the torque management system. Add a cooler thermostat and have them calibrate the fan temps.
As others said, synthetic oil change, clean air/fuel filter, clean your MAF, especially if you have an oiled K&N air filter. Changing the remaining drive train fluids to Syn may give a little more edge also.
