On the radio. Look through the settings on there. It will have the trailer brake setup. Just put a check mark on the heavy electric box.

Thanks for the trailer brake heads up. I set it as you said but don't know what voltage to set it at so I put it on 8.0 volts. Guess I might have to play with the settings on it but no biggy.
Thanks for all the replys I'm still excited been loading the 5er tonight and fridg is on cooling down. Ready to go, come on Friday!!!

Mine seem's to be only able to adjust through the up/down on the steering wheel. Not the high end model. 5.0 screen. I will give it a try next time out.
Thanks

Pg 312 of the manual (7"EVIC but no 8.4 radio)

Trailer Brake Type When this feature is selected, the Trailer Brake Type can be changed between “Light Electric”, “Heavy Electric”, “Light EOH” and“HeavyEOH”.Tomakeyourselection, scroll up or down until the preferred setting is highlighted, then press and release the SELECT button until a check-mark appears next to the setting, showing that the setting has been selected. Refer to “Integrated Trailer Brake Module” in “Starting And Operating.”

Any thoughts as to where I might set the brake controller voltage on the brakes for 18,000 lb. 5er.

Love my 2015 Ram 3500 Dually

Have the 6.7 liter Cummins with Aisin transmission, air suspension and factory 5th wheel option. Installed the B&W 25,000 lb. 5th wheel hitch. Am towing a Cardinal 3850 (40' and about 16,300 lbs.). Have taken 2 trips, all on the east coast. Most times I don't even know the trailer is there. Our trip mileage is averaging 11 MPG.

After a recent trip where I almost lost all because of 2 broken studs in 1 wheel decided to trade-in my Tundra for a GM 2500HD/Duramax /Allison/Diesel fully loaded, I'm pulling a Prime Time 290RLT and now have realised its too much for the Tundra, what i'm asking is any advantage to keep my hitch a Husky Adjustable EZ roller 16K.

Headed out Friday morning as planned with a full load of about 17,000 lbs. I set the brake controller to 5 but raised it to 5.5 and it worked perfect. The truck had no problem at all towing my 42' Columbus up and down the rolling hills. I set it to tow/haul and set the cruise control to 65. Stopped and added 30 gallons of fuel to the Toy Hauler fuel tank and headed out non stop to our destination. Truck drove smooth and had plenty of power left over. I loved the engine brake also that worked great I never had one of those before WOW. I thought the Aisin tranny was nice and and it down shifted when it needed to and the trans temp was 172 deg. The new Cummins 6.7L got 11.2 mpg towing 17k thru the rolling hills of East Texas. I really like the upgrade of the new Ram and don't miss my 15 yr. old Ford 7.3L. LOL We are planning our next trip already. Love the truck!!!

Nearly a duplication of my 2007. I tow all day using my cruise control and hardly know the mountains are there.
