V10 Excursion as a tow vehicle

Do we have any members that use an Excursion as their tow vehicle? Anything good or bad you would mention? The unit I am looking at is a 2003 Limited Edition 4x4 with the V10. It looks great and seems to run very good. I would be pulling a 2011 26TBUD.

we have been towing with a 2002 v10 ex for years now, no problems, make sure you change the trans and rear end oil and the transfer case oil. IMO the ex makes a great tow vehicle, it's got loads of room, it's stable cause of the long wheelbase, and it's decent on gas mileage. We get 9.7- 10.2 pulling a sabre 31rlds trailer. You didn't mention how many miles are on it, we currently have 72k and I'll bet 40 are towing miles.

Dave and Rainy, thanks for the response. What does that 31RLDS weigh in at? The Ex I am looking at would be TV only and currently has 157K miles on it. I drove it tonight, sounds great and runs out well.

the trailer's 8k empty, add another 500 700 lb. We tow with a hensley arrow hitch, I'd say with 157k I would make sure the plugs are fresh, thats the v10's only weak spot, sometimes the plugs can blow out, and for sure change ALL the fluids.
