Value of a quality hitch

Driving on Fla. turnpike Friday when RR tire on tow vehicle blew out. It self destructed immediately, destroying the right side of my truck from the rear of the cab back. It was a quality tire (BFG) & in excellent condition & went with no warning @ 61 mph. When it blew the TT & TV stayed arrow straight & I had no problem with sway & was able to stop safely. I contribute this to a good quality hitch, so those of you trying to save some $$$ be using a cheap hitch may want to give some earnest thought to this. I believe any of the good hitches available would have been by far safer than the less expensive ones offered; sure am glad I had mine. It was well worth every penny spent, & I am for sure now a believer in my hitch, as opposed to something less dependable.
Safe travels to all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad that you made out better than your tire. I agree with a good quality hitch. So many people skip that part of towing .

That's what I tell people. The right hardware (correctly adjusted ) makes all the difference. And, oh, the incorrectly adjusted stuff I've seen....

Glad no one was hurt!

I like buying good stuff cheap (aka online, craigslist etc.)

You don't have to pay top dollar/retail to get quality stuff being the point.

Funny thing is with RV's we pay big $ for sub-standard quality.
