My son also made the same statement about GM being Government Motors. Do a little research and you will find that although Ford did not receive the massive amounts of money that GM and Chrysler did, they certainly received billions from Uncle Sam. Ford execs. testified in favor of the bailouts. If GM and Chrysler had failed, millions of workers would have lost jobs, suppliers would have gone out of business and Ford MAY have also tanked.

Ford got theirs earlier, under the table.

Not to mention the 6.0 that Navistar gets blamed for. Money talks and Ford pressured Navistar into designing an engine they believed at the time, later proved correct, would be troublesome.

A Ford TV ad slams competitors for accepting bailout funds, even though the company’s CEO lobbied for the bill. The company — the only one of the Big Three not to receive a bailout — feared a collapse of GM and Chrysler at the time would have hurt suppliers and, in turn, Ford itself. Ford Chief Executive Officer Alan R. Mulally also asked Congress for a “credit line” of up to $9 billion in case the economy worsened.
In other words, Ford was for government bailouts before it was against them.
Although Ford did not need money from the $80 billion bailout program, Ford did receive $5.9 billion in government loans in 2009 to retool its manufacturing plants to produce more fuel-efficient cars, and the company lobbied for and benefited from the cash-for-clunkers program — contrary to the ad’s testimonial that Ford is “standing on their own.”

I forget which of the "big three" filed for bankruptcy and which did not.

Long live the mighty 7.3 Power Stroke! I'm gonna drive the wheels off mine, put them back on and drive some more.

The truth is, the 7.3 wouldn't pass federal emissions, so something had to happen.
The Sick.oh can be made to be good if you go through the trouble to bullet proof it.

This is such BS about brands, draw a line and see who can piss the farthest. If you read the ranking post I guess america is at least the top 5. That is shameful. I do not see ford before Congress this week also.

Do not worry about the frame flex on your gm product, worry instead your ignition switch will kill you.

Just worry about the cruise control setting a fire in your garage or driveway. Cruise Control Fire Recall Expanded To Ford's Largest Ever
The Ford cruise control recall now includes 14 million vehicles, making it the company's largest recall ever...

Funny thing about that, from what I saw on about 1/2 of those 12-13 deaths, seems seatbelts, speed and intoxication were also factors in some of those cases. But it was on the internet.....so who knows?
I guess gm owners just like having fun! Lol

The ongoing recall now includes the 1995-2002 Ford Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer, 1995-2003 Ford Windstar,
Most of these are excellent TV's
