I was as opposed to the bailouts as most others were but the alternative did not look good for the American auto industry.
My son also made the same statement about GM being Government Motors. Do a little research and you will find that although Ford did not receive the massive amounts of money that GM and Chrysler did, they certainly received billions from Uncle Sam. Ford execs. testified in favor of the bailouts. If GM and Chrysler had failed, millions of workers would have lost jobs, suppliers would have gone out of business and Ford MAY have also tanked.

Not to mention the 6.0 that Navistar gets blamed for. Money talks and Ford pressured Navistar into designing an engine they believed at the time, later proved correct, would be troublesome.

Long live the mighty 7.3 Power Stroke! I'm gonna drive the wheels off mine, put them back on and drive some more.
The truth is, the 7.3 wouldn't pass federal emissions, so something had to happen.
The Sick.oh can be made to be good if you go through the trouble to bullet proof it.

Funny thing about that, from what I saw on about 1/2 of those 12-13 deaths, seems seatbelts, speed and intoxication were also factors in some of those cases. But it was on the internet.....so who knows?
I guess gm owners just like having fun! Lol
