Make sure you don't change the tow characteristics on TT doesn't change tongue weight will change on TT by putting the other trailer on back. Other is sway on that small trailer that you may not be able to see have some one follow to make sure boat trailer is stable at fastest you tow. In New York this isn't allowed I made a rack for my truck and put boat on top or take 2 vehicles and have the wife tow the boat.

I haven't ever felt that the trailer was going to toss me around with the truck I have. That would be my only concern in your case with a jeep but it may not be a concern of yours. Just wanted to make that point.

Good luck...
He won't even notice the little 700 lb boat back there. He might have 50 lbs of tongue weight if that on the boat.

BTW Mine is the second picture with the Black Dodge with the 5er and bass boat.

I noticed your setup in the pics. Didn't know you were a member here. Will be heading your way again in June. I was really inclined to double tow with the golf cart, but ended up selling it. I've heard that adding the hitch to the trailer will void the frame warranty and that you can really stress the frame on the "lightweight" trailers at the point where deflection points oppose....man is this tempting....and saddening after selling my golf cart.

Depending on what I have in the boat (fuel and live wells) it weighs between 4500 an 5000#.

Where are you going here in June?

Here is a neat graphic on towing doubles. The number is the maximum length. No number means not allowed. An arrow means "allowed and no apparent limits."

Thanks! BTW, your map is wrong. Georgia allows it and so does Alabama. I called them before I went.

Michigan is wrong too. Length was 65 feet since law went into effect. Post earlier says this year it went to 75 feet. Have to check that out.

It just goes to show contact your own state but the information is just as good as the person you talk too..... In Virginia I had a State Trooper tell me that DMV is often wrong in the towing info that they give & sell you. Bottom line is it your responsibility to be correct.

I got the picture (map) from an HDT site. Over there they are discussing towing a Jeep behind their fivers and semi tractors... Life is tough.

Just curious, and I'm not a badge carrier of the weight police, are you towing all that with a 2500 or 3500? Guessing your loaded 34rets is around 13500+ and then another 5k avg from boat. Seems like too much for a 2500.

well first off why not just trade that tt in for a tt toyhauler and put the boat inside it? I've seen several do this with small ski, jon's and jet ski's? also unless they have changed the laws in the last 6 years in Oklahoma.....it's illegal to pull two tt's behind the tv. I know this because a friend of our received a ticket for it just north of alva Oklahoma about 6 years ago. he had a 1 ton dodge with a 27' tt and a 16' car trailer with a sand rail on it. he towed down and back like that 5 or 6 times but the last time the car trailer ran over a critter or something, hopped up and sent him swirving at 55 mph and wound up in the ditch on his side. he got a ticket for towing two tt's but his ins still paid the claim! he got real lucky.

Yes, the door says it's a 2500.

The only difference between my 2500 and the 3500 across the street is the overload springs. Otherwise they're identical....

After looking at the manufacturers' sites, I see that they are identical, and Ford even lists F250/350 in the towing charts.
Seems like getting a 250/2500 and adding air bags should result in a softer non-towing ride.

Haven't done anything on the trailer soon after we posted. We found out my wife had cancer. So everything in life has been put on hold. Thanks for the input.
