Hello all just wanted to broach a WDH issue. Waiting on a 2016 Rockwood Minilite 2306 to be delivered early spring and had originally planned to tow with 2010 MDX rated 5000. Had ordered Husky WDH with Antisway from dealer to be installed then, but as these things go I ended up purchasing a 2015 Ram ecodiesel used with a tow rating of 7200 (actually 9200 but hitch is rated at 7200). Bottom line: should I still go ahead with the WDH? Appreciate any insights and personal experiences...

My cousin pulls that trailer with an f150. He uses a wdh, but in my opinion it is a total waste. But, it's your money.

I think a WDH with antisway is good piece of mind!

I agree. I could easily use just a ball for our TT, but still use the WDH and antisway.

That's hilarious BHF... For the rest of us with average trucks we need the WDH for 10k to 12k TT's We don't all have a 450 . But we want one!!

Our old trailer was about 5500# and with a 250 I just used the ball. I couldn't imagine the XLR without a WDH on a 250. Back end would sag 5" or more.

Loaded down you will be at about 4700#. It's probably a toss up, but the WDH should allow the truck to handle better. If your truck was a 3/4, I wouldn't worry about it. I don't use the side anti sway even with our XLR. The WDH seems to keep it from swaying with out it. Tire wear will be more even with the WDH as well. Although, I do miss the days of backing right up to the old camper and dropping it right on the ball and taking off without messing with bars, chains, and grease.

Congrats on the purchase! Not sure there is a right answer for this one. To be safe, get the hitch. If you find you don't need it, don't use the bars. If your pulling a long distance hook them up. If your running to a park nearby.. to heck with it.
