Wdh on a v-nose trailer

Anyone have any advice experience with adding a WDH to a V-nose trailer? Just placed and order for an XLR 23FB and don't see a standard setup working on the frame as it's covered where the brackets would normally be installed.

A local and under qualified dealer recommended a weld-on unit but didn't have one or anything to show me.

Popik,
I run the Equal-i-zer on my 29 MBV XLR. Your unit is smaller overall length but should have the same nose configuation. If you have questions let me know.

Sorry, I wanted to let you know there is no welding needed. I just bolted it on. It works very good, no sway.

Thanks for the info. I was just watching the install video on their website and glad you could backup this unit.

I use an Equil-I-Zer on my V-Lite. It works well. The dealer had to remount the brake safety switch, other than that it was no problem to install. Equil-I-Zer hitches can be a little noisy. I added a set of Sway Bracket Jackets that really helped with the noise.

Sway Bracket Jacket (pair) [95-01-5150] - $19.95 : Equal-i-zer Hitch Store

You might find, as I did, the dealer set the hitch up with nothing in the trailer. You will most likely have to re-adjust after you get all your things in the trailer.

Found an alternative to the Equal-i-zer in the E2 hitch...made by the same company but only 2 point sway control instead of 4 but half the price as well. I'll post up my thoughts on it in a few weeks once the trailer and hitch are in.

i suggest you call Equal-i-zer and have them explain the differences between the 2-way and the 4-way. also, the 2-way comes in round bar and trunnion versions. don't know why they do.
you're only talking less than $100-$200 difference from the 4-way.
RVW has these prices, for a 1000/10,000lbs.: 2-way round bar/$269, 2-way trunnion/$330, 4-way/$440.
IMHO, for less than $200 more, you can get the one of the best and loved WDHs out there.

In my location the 1000/10000 trunnion is 500$ the original Equal-i-zer is over 1000$ in the same size.

since you don't have your location listed, it 's hard to know what to recommend for you to shop at.
by the prices, i'm assuming you live in Canada.
if so, many Canadians still have bought from RVW.

I looked to RVW but shipping a 100lb package is not very practical. The hitch is manufactured by the same company and has the same build quality. 2 point swat control is stil sway control so for half the price and picking it up at a dealer 3 miles from my house it worked out as a great option.

RVW ships it for free in the U.S., but if you're in Canada, then it would be more costly.

Wish Camping World would open some stores in Canada.
