I've dedicated space in trailer storage for the Blue Ox...if the trailer is not hitched, the hitch and spring bars are there safe, dry and clean...at home or away. Too many shin bruises to even consider leaving the hitch attached to the truck.

Oh, and my DW donated a ankle high sock to cover the ball...fits nice and keeps hands clean.

According to Husky, who makes my WDH bars need to be lithium greased or petroleum based grease. See below...

Inspect lift bracket support and spring bar interface for excessive wear. Any brand of petroleum based grease may be used between the mating surfaces of the underside of the spring bar and the supporting
surface of the lift bracket if needed.
At The Beginning Of Every Towing Day:
Coat the trunnion clevis pin holes and pins with any brand of petroleum based grease.

Always left hitch locked on truck and made brackets to lock the bars to the tongue.

I added a small bumper hitch to rear bumper for storing the WDH, works great, keeps it off the dirt and locked in the cg,..... even gives me a place for it at home, doesn't lay on garage floor now,..... keep it covered with a shopping bag, ... also made small wooden shelf attached to the front frame I beam on each side to hold the bars,.....

moms favorite saying......."have a place for everything and everything in its place"

I put a bracket on the rear bumper for the hitch:

And added some Eye hooks on the front of the trailer for the bars:

Keep both sway bars in the front compartment of the TT.

Cheap gun case

I throw mine in a cheap gun case and put them either in the bed of the truck (with campershell) or one of the storage bins in the camper

Ball mount stays locked to the truck. WDH and sway bars get locked in the storage compartment.

Some designs require grease; others don't.

Whatever your storage method, make sure they are secure. These things are expensive and you are in a pickle if they grow legs and walk away.

While in storage I put ours inside the door of the trailer on a sheet of cardboard to protect the floor.

Hitch head goes in a large Rubbermaid tub in the truck. Bars go in a take-off of the stinky slinky fence post mod, using PVC pipe, under the frame. See pics.
