weight calculation
I have a 2019 rockwood 2506.
2014 ford f150 3.5 ecoboost, 6.5 bed, 3.31 rear, 145 wb, gvwr 7200 package..
I think I have a tow package, but not the max tow option. I tried online calculators online and my numbers are all over the place.
When the TT is hookup to the ford how much payload weight can I add?
Is there a simple way to figure this out?

Post these from driver door jam. It will help for feedback.

You have 1363lbs of cargo capacity. Your trailer tongue alone weighs approximately 900lbs. If keep the combined weight of passengers and other non-factory items in your truck below 400lbs, you will be fine.

Ford has a VIN decoder that will tell you everything about your truck based on VIN. Google Ford VIN Decoder.

If you have the trailer already, just go weigh it:

You are really tight for cargo. Nothing in the truck bed at all. Max Tow, Max load with a eco boost in a Ford F 150 is close to 1900 lbs.

1/2 ton trucks generally run out of payload before towing capacity.
[correcting the driver allowance mistake that another person noted ... this forum doesn't allow the [s] tag for strikethrough notation because reasons]
How many people are in the truck with you? You get no allowance for the driver, so you need to add it up the fully clothed weights of your passengers:
Me: 190
Wife: 140
Child: 120
Child: 120
Total: 570 lbs and that's a conservatively high number that assumes we all wear ~15 lbs of clothing.
WDH weighs around 100 lbs. I have about 100 lbs in the bed (mainly wood, but also mainly empty).
My 6,100 lb trailer will put around 750 lbs on my hitch.
750 + 100 + 100 + 570 = 1,620 lbs
It adds up really, really fast. I think my old F150 is rated to tow 9,000 lbs or something like that, but I can't tow 6,000 lbs without hitting my payload limit!
Good luck.

The 150# driver is factored into the tow rating not the payload. Just like the sticker says, payload is all occupants and cargo. There is no 150# deduction for a driver on the total payload.

OP said when TT is hooked up how much weight can I add?
Stacking up weight guestimates including a TW guestimate toward a payload sticker number that won't match your GVWR when using a WDH will give you a wrong answer. This method is like an urban legend that won't die.
ependydad said it.. weigh it. You can download a free app from CAT. It has a locator and gps directions. Its usually like $12 & $2 per additional weigh. CAT scales are all over the place if their isn't one close to your home their will likely be one on your way to your next camping trip destination.
This will show your actual weight (and accurate tongue weight) with TT attached. Subtract your actual weight from GVWR and you know exactly how much weight you can add to your TV.
Actual Weights - Travel Trailer/Bumper Pull Weights from CAT Scales - Towing Planner
BTW that is also used to set up the safest most stable TV TT rig. Ideally with loaded steer matching unloaded steer weight as close as possible. And tongue weight in the 11 to 14% range.

The answer to what can my 1/2 ton tow; Generically whatever TT has a GVWR less than TV’s max tow rating. Specifically is found on CAT scale via weight distribution with TV TT & WDH. Best motor & gearing all 5 Mfgs within specs IE safe & stable normally to 8k but passengers & bedload reduce this. RAM 1500 ED max tow 9,200, max axle ratings 3,900, max 09-18 CVWR 15,950, axle weights me & gear 3,240 steer 2,560 drive

If I add air bags and weight distribution will that raise the numbers?

No. Those will level out your load and give your much better control. The payload is a function of frame strength (thickness), axle capacity, suspension components, and other things. I believe the Heavy Duty Payload package you can get on the F150 uses a frame that is actually a bit thicker than standard F150.
Generally speaking, there's nothing you can really do to increase the payload rating on your truck. The only thing you can do is to free up payload.
That is, the truck has a base payload rating that's based on a nearly naked build. Then, the truck as-built has a payload rating on the door jamb that reflects how much of that payload is still available to you in the finished, as-shipped configuration. Moonroofs, climate control, premium stereos, seat trim, 4WD, skid plates, running bars, tailgate steps, sliding rear windows, and other options all consume the payload capacity of the bare truck because they all weigh some finite amount of lbs. The only way to claw back is to take this stuff out.
So, for example, if you tore out 150 lbs of air conditioning equipment from your engine bay and cab, you'd add 150 lbs of payload capacity. But, you cannot add aftermarket parts to increase the capacity.
Good luck.

No to both. Adding airbags does not raise your carrying capacity, the manufacturer determined the max payload of your truck and those are the numbers you must fall within.
The weight distribution hitch does what it's name implies, it distributes the weight evenly across all axles. There are lots of great videos on YouTube breaking it down.
I just went through this myself, had my truck for a year, bought a TT, and had to learn all about this stuff.
We went and weighted the truck, found out that we didn't have the carrying capacity to accommodate the hitch weight of the trailer as the truck was equipped. I've since removed some accessories, and weighed everything that either came off, or I plan to remove for towing. We have to have basically an empty truck minus passengers to tow safely, and within our weights.

This seems like easy math, but I’m getting so many diffident answers. Here’s one. Tell me why this isn’t right. Crazy
“”It looks like you have a GCWR of 14,900 lbs. That means the total of your loaded truck and trailer can weigh a max of 14,900 lbs so you should be able to max out the truck and trailer, yes, because 7,200 + 6,631 = 13,831. So, you should be good.””

As fonzie says, You never give the Yellow Tire and Loading sticker of your truck. You will run out of cargo carrying capacity of your TV before you exceed the gross combined weight rating. " The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed xxxx lbs" is the most important number you should start with.

It seems simple, but there is a lot of information you need to know. Like Scrapper mentioned, your GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) is the max weight your truck can possibly weigh, that is a very important number. Another equally important thing is payload, and what that is for your vehicle.
I believe all manufacturers make a towing guide you can find online, and like someone else mentioned, you can cross reference your VIN to get the exact ratings.
Now my truck and trailer are different, but here is an example of what I did to chart all this information.
Like someone else mentioned, I highly recommend you go weigh your vehicle in as close to ready to go form as you can (occupants, full tank of gas, etc) and get the facts, it takes the guess work right out of this. Safety is important, knowing the information is part of that safety.
