weight Distribution ?

Quick question if anyone knows the answer...
Hooked up new tow vehicle to RV. After taking all measurements per owners manual (Ford F150) my front fender measurement with trailer and weight distribution hooked up was the same measurement as it was without anything on vehicle. Question is, is this ok or should the front be up at least 1/2 inch?
Owners manual says no more than 1/2 inch so I'm not sure what is within range.
Appreciate any feedback. Thanks

If you are at you unloaded truck measurement, you should be good to go. A trip to the scales is a good idea to confirm your fender measurements and weights.

I think the Ford manual refers to the front bumper measurements....my 2006 manual does. I states something like "the front bumper should be within 1/2" of the unloaded weight". If you think about it, hanging a trailer tongue on on the rear bumper without any kind of weight distributing would probably make the front bumper come way up....much more than a 1/2"....the back end of the truck goes down, and the front comes up. Using a WDH raises the back end of the truck, lowers the front end, getting the bumper back to the normal area. The way I interpret the manual is that the front bumper should be withing 1/2 " (+/-) of the unloaded weight.

If you get the fender measurements back to the unloaded weight, then the front bumper measurement should be within that 1/2" (+/-)

Thanks MTNGUY. Yea without the wd the front raises 1" then goes back to level when I add wd. wasn't sure if you should have a little rise for a better ride . guess I'll find out when I tow
